: Anyone have the North Badge?

I think that my Pat is missing the North Badge.

I have a 2008 Pat, 4x2 FWD, base was $16,995 + options.
They Vehicle Purchase Agreement shows that I have 26E Customer Preferred Package, I am pretty sure that includes the North Edition Badge.
Am I mistaken?

Mine was delivered Oct 30th and was missing the North Badge. I went to the dealer and they checked the VIN and then ordered the badges for me. They came in a week and I now have them on. I do not remember the package number for the North Edition but with your VIN it can be easily checked.

Yes you should have two Patriot North Badges if it was purchased in Canada. Many who missed receiving the badges simply went back to their dealer and had them ordered free of charge. See details below:

What is different with the Patriots sold in Canada, that they get the "North Badge"...????

charlimc

In Canada there are three levels of Patriot- Sport, North and Limited

In USA there are two - Sport and Limited.

We like to think we are special by having the North model- some cynics say that this is a meaningless thing= but we are proud of our North badges

Where can us "southerners" get a badge like this if it so behooves us? (My wife is French Canadian, don't tell anyone...)

The part number is 05113554AA.

Thank you for inforamtion and part number. Yesterday I picked up my Pat with 24E package option, and both badges where displayed on the front doors.
I had the part number handy just in case the badges were missing to have the dealer order them for me.
I was glad that was not the case.

This is a great forum; you can learn a lot.

Thanks guys!

So, is it just a badge designating it was sold in Canada?? I was thinking it might have had a engine block heater in it or some other option in it or something??

Anyway, I am closer to the border than you realize. About 120 miles or so. There are a lot of Canadian plated vehicles around here and sooner or later I will surely see one and wonder what it is all about.

115V Auxiliary Power Outlet
Power Windows, Driver One-Touch
Speed Sensitive Power Locks

Also, the block heater was standard on my Pat, found the cord tucked away behind the fuse box.

No not really. The Patriot North has a mix of features that place it between the Sport and the Limited. (i.e. it has many of the Limited features)

And yes, it has the special metal badge on each door !

hey 'charlimc'....whats "Scanguage"? you have it listed as a option on your 'North' model.

funny, you (Canadians) get a "North" badge on your 26E Packaged model and we get nothing....not even a 'Sport' badge. damned "North"erners....;)

charlimc

Scanguage is not a factory option- It is a small computer that connects with the OBDII port on the Patriot and it displays data in real time such as Fuel consumption, horsepower , distance to empty etc etc. If you google on scanguage you can get the details- I find it a great thing since I do not have the EVIC option on my Patriot. It cost me about 160 and it took 5 minutes to hook up and configure- I placed it in the cubby hole just under the radio. You can even set the display colour to match the instrument panel

I have one of those and it is great. Anyway, I almost didn't buy it because I thought it was too expensive. But when I thought about it, you can put it in almost any vehicle, and it will also read and clear codes.

BTT........There should be a "South of the Border" badge too then. Now everybody elce will be jealous.......Oh, and I didn't know I was a "southerner" until now........:D

This is what found on the North Edition:

From - - - http://www.canadiandriver.com/testdrives/08patriot.htm

The Patriot North 4X2 ($19,595) adds a 'North' badge, air conditioning, stain-resistant YES Essentials seat fabric, dark-tint rear and rear-side windows, assist handles, power locks with keyless remote, power fold-away mirrors, power windows including driver's one-touch down window, removable and rechargeable flashlight, power mirrors, 115-volt power outlet, reclining 60/40 split folding rear seat, fold-flat front passenger seat, and driver's height-adjustable seat. The Patriot North 4X4, this week's test vehicle, starts at $21,595.

I live in Michigan and am getting my Pat in April... I never ever have a vehicle that looks like the rest... so i am adding the badges to mine when i get it... No dealers in the states can get them for me, so i found a dealer in Windsor that can get them from another dealer in Winnepeg... I work for a Tire store here and can get the parts from them at my cost.... 56.00 USD EA!

Just a short update... I went to the dealer last week and told them about the missing badges on my '08 North. They've ordered them form Chrysler and installed them at no charge. The part guy told me that the North edition should arrive to the dealer with the badges in the car, as if it would have to be installed by the dealer if requested by the buyer. The problem is that most of the time, Chrysler don't send the badges in the car...

Just be aware and ask 'em!

Later,

Lewis

Ditto for me. Submitted in December and got my confirmation of documents received in early Feb. I called the number they listed, and they told me 12 weeks for the cheques to be "in the mail".

Looks like I'm missing mine too. Oh well...just another loose end associated with this Chrysler product.
Do they all have that orange arrow? If so I may not worry about it, because I don't think it will look that good with the silver metallic paint of the body of the vehicle.
Do you think they malliciously left them off as a cost savings measure, and with the hopes that there are people out there stupid enough to pay $72 bucks for perhaps a 2 dollar item?

If your VIN checks out as a North at the dealer, they will order 2 badges for you. if you want a 3rd it will cost (about $35) - not worth it!

Yeah they all have the orange arrows on them... works for me cause my pat is SBO. But the orange isn't that noticable, I think it would look nice on a silver Pat.

My North didn't come with them on either but I told me dealer and they had them in the next two weeks (this was back in November). My arrows are a nice red, not orange; at least as far as I can tell. I think it adds some definition to my white Patriot.

RE: Post #26 I live in Michigan and have had similar window freezing problems... Has anyone found a work-around for this? (besides moving to a warmer climate!!!) I've found that even a light frost causes the windows to seize. Prior cars I've driven have had strong enough window motors to break free of moderate frost - my Patriot windows seem to have trouble with even a light frost.

I have a 2008 North Edition too (26E) without the badges. I like it without them. The badges seemed out of place so I asked the dealer to remove them prior to deliver.

When dealerships order parts it literally only takes 1/2 a business day to get them parts. Trust me I know. I've worked in the parts department of both Honda and Dodge/Jeep/Chrysler dealerships about 5 years ago. I still have good friends working at dealerships and nothing has changed. This is obviously excluding those dealerships in the outskirts. Maximum delivery time for those dealerships is 2-3 business days tops.

So Robot_Boy I'd ask for a order confirmation # if I were you. Oh and if you really want them to get the ball rolling, tell them you will be getting your next scheduled service when the part gets in. LOL, that one always works!

I agree with Jeelo. As a dealer, I am not sure where they are getting the Pats with the north package, but no emblems. They should be shipped that way from the factory. After selling them ever since they rolled on to the lot, I have never seen a north package without a badge....Odd! Either way, unless you live in a far flung region of the north, you should recieve the badges within a couple of days

Can someone please clarify this for me?

early last week I took my patriot in for its first oil change and requested to have the north edition badges put on.

They checked the vin and ordered 1 badge and put it on the passenger door the next day.

I called them back to say that they forgot to put the 2nd badge on the driver side and the dealership in Mississauga commented that the north edition only gets 1 badge and if I want another badge put on the driver side, I would need to pay for it.

Is there any documentation that can be referred to saying that there are 2 north edition badges? to me its only common sense to have matching badges on both sides.

thanks!

Don't want to cause an international incident but how about a "Yankee Badge" for you guys south of the Great Lakes and north of the Mason-Dixon Line and a Reb one for those below!? Then everyone should be happy.

Not sure they will do that, but do not feel bad. After all it is called a "Patriot".

They only come with one badge, that is usually put on the Drivers door. It is the same with the trail rated badge. One badge only. This is the way that jeep badges their SUVS. It is the same with the Wranglers, Grand Cherokees and Commanders.

Only the trail rated badge comes on the driver side.

The North badge is supposed to come on both doors. The trail rated badge is actually located on the front driver side 1/4 panel while the "North" badges are mounted on both front doors.

I know this for sure because I live 30 seconds away from a dealership and see them all the time. As well, when I bought mine I requested for them to take both off.

Maybe we can get some "South" edition badges made up for us U.S. owners...have them made just like a North badge except the compass point can point down instead! :D
