Has anyone gone with LT rated tires instead of P rated? I want the BFG A/T's and have to order them in, im worried about the ride though. Any comments?

I have Michelin LT M/S tires and they are better in every way than the stock Goodyears.

I went with the BFG A/T's. Killer traction on the snow and ice up here in Edmonton. They are an LT tire and you can definately feel it. It rides like a truck now.

What rating does your tire have, if you don't mind me asking....The BFG KO'S have C,D & E ratings close to a 29.5 !

LT stands for "Light Truck". It will ride like a truck.

The bigest differences are the Actual Weight of the Tire, The Tires Weight Rating (construction) and the Sidewall Stiffness (which goes hand in hand with the first two differences). They will usually ride a bit firmer...doesn't mean you will end up riding like a Pick Up Truck...but you might notice a bit of a harsher ride...depends a lot on air pressure. They will almost always hurt City MPG from the extra weight of the tires themselves...affects acceleration. That means also that "braking" might suffer a bit for the same reason...extra weight.

Generally speaking, It's a "D" range. They will "generally" ride a little stiffer than a "C". and so on! Thanks for answering. I was getting ready to put new tires on with my Rubicon wheels and just wanted to double check what load range you used. Wish you were closer, we could compare............. If you get a chance, you might want to run them aired down to speed breaking them in. Just be careful with the heat build up and top speed! I have done this with all my "off road" tires and it really does make a differance.
