: Hrm, a possibly real project??
Vultite 04-15-2010, 06:41 PM I thinking about doing this for real next year when I get my next tax return back, wonder what your thoughts on this.....painting the front grill area all black (maybe flat black) then doing front and rear bumper the same and painting the wheels black as wheel...kinda like this (I really suck at photoshop) I can't figure out how to get a realistic thing going...so w/e
I Figure the front and back would look similar to the Sema patriot of 2007 but I'd be silver and not orange....at first I would just paint the stock 17" wheels or get the 17" black mambas

Ignatz 04-15-2010, 08:25 PM Hey it's yours, go ahead. Make it the way you want it. Uh-h, I hope it comes out better than your photoshop did. :o
While Jeep, and Chrysler in general, is strugging to muster new sales, I wonder if they'd consider bringing back a 2-tone concept as in the 1950s? Maybe a photoshop expert could do a rendering here?
Please forgive my rude comment above -- at least you have the courage to try. :notworthy:
jepstr67 04-15-2010, 10:11 PM There is a fellow on here that has done pretty much what you want to do. His looks real nice and tough.
Vultite 04-15-2010, 10:22 PM someone already did it? anyone know who it is or have a link? I figure it wouldn't cost much unless I have to buy new wheels. I could take off the bumpers and front grill and strip the paint, then prime and do a flat black or semi gloss...which do you think would be better in the long run? then scuff up the wheels and shoot them black or have them powder coated....maybe a few hundred tops if I did it myself? I pretty much want to get close to the Sema Jeep without having to get the roof done and spraying the Pat orange...I wish I had photoshop skills but I sure don't hahaha :p
nth256 04-16-2010, 11:05 AM Kinda has an old-skool Cherokee feel to it...
koolkatken83 04-16-2010, 10:32 PM I have a descent photoshop of doing this to my Patriot. But obviously mine is white. I just ordered my paint and should be in on Monday. I plan on doing the grill and part on the lower bumper on the front and rear. Similar to Easter Weekend Patriot. I would post the pic of the photoshop but it is on my old computer and the hard drive went out. Also no photoshop yet on the new laptop.
todde702 04-17-2010, 09:37 AM I did up a few pictures a while ago for some ideas I had. Something like this for the front?

I'm hoping to do something like this...

or this...

Vultite 04-17-2010, 03:16 PM nice job!! more like the first picture you put up, the front grill will be black, but the bumper as well, and rear bumper too...then either paint the factory wheels black or get the black MOAB clone wheels
BWheeler 04-23-2010, 06:27 AM Great job! Simple but looks real good...
I think it would be better if you'll put additional design on the door side...
dixiedawg 04-23-2010, 08:27 AM I like the 3rd version Todde, are you going to do that?
I've thought of adding the chrome to the grill slots, nice look. Not sure what else I'll do now though, thinking of trading this one for a 2011 late summer. If I can trade it before I need tires, brakes, CVT change, etc. and save those costs I probably will.

dixiedawg 08-23-2010, 07:57 AM Hey Todde, if you did the black stripes on the sides in the 3M black reflective, that would be very cool
dbs0003 07-21-2011, 11:35 AM @Vultite: I am doing the same thing to my Pat right now. An option that I took for rims is to buy some chrome wheelskins and paint them with bedliner. It's a pretty cheap alternative. I bought mine from sportwing and bought the compass wheelskins (the pat and the compass have the same 17" rims). I taped mine off so that they would look like the moto metal rims. I also painted my rear pumper to look like the sema with bedliner. I will upload my front end pictures on here once I get done. I think that this might be the look you're going for. Good luck to ya!
adb1723 07-21-2011, 05:15 PM the black grille looks great, i'm going to be painting mine next week.
dbs0003 07-21-2011, 06:28 PM Hey just did the front. Check out my profile for more pictures of front and some of the back. Might help you get ideas.

Awesome.
mslayer1136 01-13-2012, 03:20 AM stripe stolen and completed.. looks awesome =P thanks for the ideas
