: 2.0L unobtainable on Chrysler Canada site

The 2.0L shows up once on the website as far as I can see but there is no way to price it out and no way to find out anything about it. Are there any other sources of information about this motor in Canada?

I got the colour brochure from the dealer i bought mine from in Toronto and its got the 2.0 listed. Its not available on the limited however.
of coarse this brochure doesn't quote prices. Id grab one from a delaership, then send them an email with the specs. That way you got no pesky or intimidating sales rep to deal with.

Way out here in the desert wilds of B.C. I'm over 100 km from the nearest dealer, so I haven't seen a brochure yet. Is there any significant price difference with the little motor, and does it come as a manual without the "evil CVT"? As for reps, I once sold cars myself so I love to mess with them. I walk in with a figure written on a piece of paper. When I'm ready to deal, I hand them the paper and say "one buck over this and my a$$ is out the door." You should see how some of them react! :)

Desert of B.C?..<wonders if it is near White Rock>
I have attached a .jpeg scanned copy of the engine specs.
Hopefully this will help...

No, my ex is in White Rock so I try to stay several hours drive away in case she wants to chase me for alimony. :) I'm in a complete desert valley of the Thompson featuring rattlesnakes, cactus and the same climate profile as Carson City, NV. You go 10 miles in any direction and you're in piney forest. It's the most amazing microclimate anywhere!

Thanx for the specs, and it seems that 25 is my engine! The specs still don't tell me if I can get the Freedom Drive thingy without the "Satanic CVT" though. What has Chrysler Canada done, farmed out its tech specs and ordering information to non-English speaking countries?

Just went to Carcostcanada.com and couldn't price the 2.0L motor with a manual transmission. This was using the 'Advanced options' option.

Hi, Gxstress. How are things in Maple Fudge? :) Chrysler is doing a really CRAP job of informing their potential buyers. I can get 10x as much accurate information on a company's website if I'm buying a $50 computer part than a $20K Pat!

I want a 2.0L with FDII and 5 speed. Well, I can't get it. Doesn't exist. OK, then a 2.0L with SOMETHING. Can't get that either. Why the hell offer an engine if you then make it invisible?

Chrysler Canada's webmaster needs to be spanked! But he'd probably like it. :)

Hmmm....the Government of Canada eco-rebate program is offering 1000 bucks if you purchase a 2.0 CVT ....and you can;t get them?..WTF is up with that?

Perhaps they fixed the website as I was just able to build one this morning.

From what I have gathered looking at the 2008 brochure the 2.0L only comes in the CVT (cannot get that engine size in manual transmission).

The Government of Canada eco-rebate applies to any Patriot that is 2WD/FWD. (2.4 or 2.0 liter engines)

Thanks..can you do me a favour?..Can you browse the Gvnt.of Canada web site, and tell me if a Front Wheel Drive 2.4 Sport with a CVT transmission qualifies?

I need a 2nd opinion.

If you check the list for the Canadian ecoAUTO program, the Patriot 4x4 qualifies for 2008 models, but only if you have a 5-speed.

I mailed my info in about a week ago and hope to have my $1000 cheque by March.

Here is the link....for 2008 all Patriots qualify except 4x4s with automatic/CVT transmission.

I just got off the phone with a Chrysler dealer and according to them, the 2.0L is only available in 2WD versions. Sigh. And there is no way to get FDII without the CVT which has to be the most counterintuitive policy by any car manufacturer anywhere. If you want to take your 5 speed off road you have to do it in street trim. You can't even get the skid plates by themselves! DUH! I'm so damn unhappy with these forced choices, I may just lump it and get a Wrangler. :(
