For those who purchased their Jeep Patriots 'outside' North America can you confirm the type/weight of oil recommended in your manual? In addition what is printed on the oil filler cap?
Looking for gas models (not the CRD/Diesel).

Perhaps there are less Patriot owners outside the US than I thought?

The Patriots should have been included in TSB 26-001-07 dated January 12, 2007. Not covered under MODELS but is covered under DISCUSSION. Probably because they had not been released yet.

Thank-you for sending, however I am left with more questions:
What is the reason export models are to use 5w-30 vs 5w-20?
Is there a TSB that specifically covers exported Jeep Patriots?

Speculation on the TSB only covering the Caliber and Compass: The Patriot wasn’t released yet; the addendum was meant to be included in the manual but missed the publishing dead line and there was no follow-up to have an additional TSB released.
The Exports may use 5W-30 for the same reason that they have the CRD available – exhaust emissions. While 30W oil protects better it also creates internal drag that causes emission to increase. The testing for N.A. emissions standards was done with 5W-20 and for Chrysler to advocate 5W-30 for use in N.A. would violate Federal standards.
