(Auto CVT 4X4 Pat North) Today I drove over a foot of ice and snow that the plow left at the end of my driveway. No problem done it before. Those skidplates have always done the job. When I left and got onto the road the front end and steering wheel started to shake violently! I had nowhere to stop. Drove up to 80 kms/hr with a bit of a let up on the skaking. When I was able to pull over I pulled the steering wheel to the extreme left then right. Drove back and the shuddering was gone but there was defiently a hesitation which seemed to be from my CVT. Hard to tell. I do have the ticking problem which is related to the CVT and needs to be flashed. I'm going to the dealer on Monday. I took my Pat out on the highway at 100kms/hr. and it seemed to run smoother. Your thoughts please.

You might have gotten some snow packed in the wheel wells? Or maybe between the wheel and brake? Etc?

Could you have had some serious snow/ice build up inside your inner fender wells that disloged and was rubbing up against the the tires inside of the fender wells? This could produce some violent shaking of the steering wheel.

That sounds reasonable. As I mentioned after I turned the wheels boths ways there was no more shaking. Many thanks.

Yepper....I agree..there was another thread out there of where a driver saw that issue 1st hand. The fact you had shuddering in the steering wheel..
Snow got trapped in the wheel well behind the black plastic barrier. He said he was going to the dealer to get the thing tacked in a little more secure.
Unsure what happened past that point.

Is it possible that ice was in the wheels and it threw them out of balance (temporarily). That would cause shaking/wobbling also.

Everything is fine today. It looks like the snow was probably pushed up behind the plastic inside fenders. I just hate it when stuff like this happens! You guys are a great help. Thanks.

See if you can find that thread I mentioned earlier..this guy had the same issue, and he went back to the dealer.
When push comes to shove...i think its a design flaw and i think by all rights they should fix it..safety issue
You guys do 4-wheel..(I dont..I got a front wheel drive), so I wouldn't live with it

Yes I remember that post. I have an appointment with the dealer on Monday morning.
