: Sport v Limited
I really dislike the gray on the front of the Limited, but do like the side trim. Plus the limited has some of the options i really want, like the sun roof. Such a decision...maybe hide the front under a brush guard?
The limited I priced out was 25,445...over 10,000 cheaper then my current gc.
xjtke611 12-23-2006, 03:40 PM I've already posted about 4 times how much I do not like those silver/gray bumper things... Still wondering if its removable without damaging the bumper underneath?
I personally can live w/o the sunroof. If it wasn't an $800 option I would think about it.
Patriot Sport the way I would like it $22,815.
Patriot Limited the way I would like it $24,385.
With only a $1600 difference between the Sport and Limited it might come down to what kinda deals the dealership is running. Depending on the deal I think I could live with those silver things on my bumpers. :D
antoine66 12-23-2006, 07:30 PM For me, a limited $24,705.......I gotta have a sunroof. That price doesnt include remote start, thats a must have option for me also.
Rottenbob 12-24-2006, 03:04 AM I thought the silver/argent bumper appliques looked good... until I saw a pic of the Patriot without them. This vehicle looks a LOT better without that adornment. I definitely prefer the Sport over the Limited for that reason alone.
Also, for me, I'll have to add a few grand to the price I calculate, for the cost of paint. Since none of the available colors are acceptable to me, I'll have to pay to have it repainted somewhere.

Save some money and get Line-X or Rhino-Line sprayed on it.... They can mix just about any color and you will never have to worry about scratches. :D
silvermike 12-24-2006, 10:53 AM The colors do seem a little lame. I wonder if you can "special order" a Dodge Caliber exterior paint scheme? Worth asking anyways.
charlieB 12-26-2006, 10:12 PM How do the auto companies decide on colors anyway?
Stinger 12-26-2006, 11:05 PM I prefer the Sport but I wish you could get it with the sunroof. I don't want a leather interior especially here in Vegas. There's only one color for me. Jeep Green.

I too would prefer a sunroof over leather seats.
charlieB 12-27-2006, 06:37 AM I agree,I'll go with the green also
tommcg 12-27-2006, 12:51 PM at this point, i'm starting to wonder what colors they'll add for 2008 ... it seems like we'd surely get red rock & mineral gray ... (my fav current jeep colors) ... i might be waiting anyway to see if the new MyGig system becomes an option and if they'll add some plain silver alloy wheels instead of those dark gray's ... i mean really, if dealers don't start getting a lot until march, i could wait 6 more months if i could get a mygig.
Rottenbob 12-27-2006, 03:04 PM Yeah, I can wait a year. I'm in no real hurry. I've decided I'll probably get the Khaki, if I can't order it in the Caliber's Sunburst Orange. Then in a few years I'll get it painted.
I've also decided that I want a steering wheel from a Wrangler installed in my Patriot. I've noticed that the Wrangler and the PT Cruiser share the same steering wheel, so I'm hoping it can be installed in the Patriot with little effort. I drive with my arm in my lap and one hand resting right-of-center on the bottom of the steering wheel, and it looks like the Patriot's steering wheel has a spoke very close to where I would rest my hand.

X2 on the Mineral Gray. My XJ was dark gray... At least until the paint started peeling off.:D
jdhall 12-27-2006, 04:40 PM My XJ is black, and My mom's XJ is the jeep. I'm leaning toward the Inferno Red or Steel Blue. I'm opting for the leather seats and Sunroof, hey the first car the I'm actually buying (my XJ was parents for about a year before I got my license) and I need a nice suv for work.

I agree on the first and second part... though I won't get a whole new paint job. I am leaning towards the darker blue... just need to add a liberal coating of fresh mud now and then...
The bumpers will be replaced with some nice aftermarket models that will accept a winch, so why pay extra for something that will not last on it?!?!

The 'custom colors' add a lot to the price (comparatively). I do really like the product and will look into getting the lower 1/3 to 1/2 done after I get new bumpers, and rock sliders! Might as well get them coated too.
frosty 01-04-2007, 12:53 PM The 'flexible seating group' option is a must have for myself (includes rear fold-flat forward seat, reclining 60/40 fold flat rear seat and front-passenger forward-fold flat seat) and is only available on the Limited model so I have no choice....
...in addition... the 'leather interior group' (which includes leather-trimmed bucket seats, driver's manual adjustable lumbar, heated front seats, leather-wrapped steering wheel with audio controls and front and rear floor mats is a great option if you have a dog that sheds a lot....and is only available on the Limited model so my choice is made for me...
...the only real choice for me is the 26D package or the 26G package on the Limited...where the basic difference is that most of the options I want are optional on the D package and standard on the G package...so it looks like the 26G package for me..

The Jeep Patriot Sport E Package includes:
Rear 60/40 reclining and folding seat backs
Flexible Seating Group
Only difference is the limited includes:
Front passenger forward flat seat.
I think the poster knows this already I just don't want the post to cause confusion.
As to the shaggy dog hair - I was contemplating the limited leather for the same reason but I think i'm gonna go with the YES essentials fabric. Have a baby on the way and dont want sains on the fabric but I dont like heated or cold leather seats in the winter. Warm Seats make me wanna pee - I'm sure you didnt want to know that but there it is! - Sport 26E + FDII here I come

Thanks. Congrats. and TMI. :p
Thanks clearing that up. I want the 60/40 reclining/folding rear seats but don't need the front passanger seat to fold.
Congrats on the baby! ETA? Our's is about Easter time this Spring.
TMI on the whole warm seats thing... http://www.profileking.org/smilies/45.gif (just kidding)
We are going for the YES cloth for the same reasons. Leather is too cold in the winter and hot in the summer sun. Plan on your infant spilling or spewing at least once inside the vehicle (probably when you are least prepared for it).
I am still trying to sort out what package(s) to head towards that will provide our needs at the absolute minimum cost... it will take a bit.
frosty 01-04-2007, 04:03 PM Yes, I prefer to have the option of the front seat folding for heading to the cottage (sometimes you have 'long' junk) even though we have another vehicle that could take more stuff...
...the leather option is a must when you have a labrador retriever....even though I cover the front seats with sheepskin seat covers (which eliminates the cold/hot problem)...I still need the leather because lab hair gets into everything and I would never get it out of the rear seats....
PatriotFan 01-04-2007, 05:48 PM Thanks PDX
ETA for Baby was Today Jan 4th...we're expecting at any moment....Mama's gettin impatient. Had appt today they said come back Tuesday. :)
Fully expecting a few car mishaps ;)
Sheepskin covers eh...not a bad idea.
