I finally got my decals for the rear bumper installed and while I was back there, I also painted that eyesore of a muffler black. So you tell me, how does the SBO Patriot look after it has had a rear end makeover?

They weren't that difficult to install. I did have a bit of a breeze to deal with but nothing that I couldn't overcome by blocking the wind. I used an exacto knife to help position the decal as it was peeled off the paperbacking to transfer to the bumper.

The paint I used on the muffler was rated for 1200 degrees.

I was wondering whether to do the muffler mod when mine arrives, looks like it'll be a good idea.

For those of you who like the blacked out muffler look-but want a performance muffler, Flowmaster offers their Super 40 and Super 44 mufflers in a high temp flat black. They also just came out with a Super 44 that comes in a 14 gauge steel diamond plate made just for 4x4's. Please note that these mufflers are NOT quiet stock sounding, nor are they a bolt on deal. You will have to go to a GOOD muffler shop(meaning not a Midas or Meineke) that knows how to use their bender as the Patriot uses a very odd inlet/outlet position for their muffler.

I have to wait until warmer weather to put the paint on, but that will be a priority this spring.

If so, was the quality what you expected?

oh..last question..what color are your decals? (my monitor showed them to be dark but not black. Couldn't really tell with all that bright orange around 'em! :D )

I bought the "Reflective Black" decals. Because of the angle I took one of the pictures at , the lettering does not look as dark as one would expect black to look.

Remember, a long time ago, in a galaxy far, no wait.... Sorry... Mind started wandering.... Anyway, a while back, when we all were discussing these new decals, Jimmy mentioned something about making the Patriot look like a taxi?
