Just a FYI: talked to a rep at Autokeskus. She said there have been some inquiries about the skid plates for Patriots so their spare parts folks went ahead and ordered a few. No word as to availability or pricing yet, though. I'll update this if and when they let me know. In the mean time, anyone in Finland looking for a way to improve their Patriot's off-road capabilities, now you know where to ask.

Hmh. The salesperson was under the impression that these plates were Finnish manufacture, not OEM parts. Which leaves me wondering about their quality. Oh well, I sent some more questions. I wonder, at what point they will get frustrated with me? :)

They are definitely not OEM parts but made in Finland using 2mm thick steel plate.

Steel makes me wonder about rust. Not on the plates themselves, but the undercarriage of the car. Anyone more car-savvy have an opinion on this?

The OEM plates are also steel. Steel is the only thing able to take a hit without cracking or bending. Usually they powder coat them to prevent rust.
