Hi,
if you open your Pat with the remote key does any light inside or outside the car goes on?

Just wonder...

I am pretty sure it can be made to order at your dealership, but from the factory mine, the interior AND exterior lights come on when I unlock it with the keyfob.

It depends on how u have it set. If you turn off the interior/dashboard light slider the lights won't come on when you unlock the car. Exterior lights are configurable by the knob next to the compass/on-board computer display when you have the Jeep sitting still in Park and ignition on (or car running).

Mine has the illuminated entry option. So, when I hit the unlock button once, the interior lights come, the headlights come on and the signal flashers blink - oh and just the driver door unlocks. Hit the button again within a second or so and the flashers flash yet again and all doors, including the liftgate open.

Yeah, I set only the driver door to open as well (at the first click, second click open all). I love it how it's all configurable :)

Aehm , can the customer configure the settings or does it the dealer?

Any list about all configureable settings?

On a Limited model you can do it yourself in the display by the speedo. I bet there's a list here already, but from what I can recall u can se the locks (all or just driver door), lights (on unlock they turn on, on lock they turn on, both or neither), the blinkers/horn when doors lock (on/off), etc. All kinds of handy thingies.

Not sure on how it's done on the Sport, but I'm guessing they just plugin some computer at the dealer and then they can do the same configs.

Read your manual. The info on how to set all of these things is in there.

Another interesting fact is that the Patriot has to be opened with the remote control. If you try to use the key the car alarm goes off. You turn it off by inserting the key in the ignition. I was told at the dealership that this feature cannot be modified so be ready to wake up the neighbors when the remote battery dies.

Haven't even thought of that... ;) I did notice that if you lock the doors 2-3 times in a fast sequence the car BEEPS and lets you know that the interior radars from that anti-theft system have been disengaged (meaning if you have a dog in the car the alarm won't go off). Lovely feature and not all alarms have even that one, I'm quite satisfied that the Patriot's alarm does.. (and so's my dog..)
