Just wondering if anyone else finds their Pats slippery off the line? I'm not gunning it, and I'm not babying it either, but I find the Wrangler SRA (17") spin far too easily. On dry asphalt it's not too hard to make the front wheels skip. When the pavement is wet (and I don't mean freshly wet, but after a good long rain) I have to make a concious effort to not have the tires spin. Pressures are good (checked with manual gauge, and only 10K kms). Comments?
Safe drivin'!

I noticed that today while driving in the rain. I have an FWD with a 16. Could it be the CVT?

did they sneak in a V6 or V8 in there?
I found just the opposite,
I cant even get the tires to chirp
couple times i have floored it off the line, to enter traffic
watched the rpms go up to 6K rpms
and looked in my rear view mirror as cars that were hundreds of feet away are now on my tail
and still waiting for the pat to get up to speed,
when flooring it there is a good 1-2 second delay between engine revving and vehicle actually moving to try to catch up to the revs,
as for in the rain,
havent driven aggressively in the rain, try to avoid that,
but have no problem with wet traction,
I have FDII 4x4, but havent had to use the 4x4 yet
3 months and just over 9K miles on it

It's been raining here and I have the original tires (Goodyear Eagle LS) on mine and not having any issue coming off the line in mine. I have CVT. There is something that the place where we buy our tires did to our Nissan Frontier to give it more traction. It's called Tire Siping here's the link to what it's about. http://www.lesschwab.com/siping.asp

I have yet to floor my Patriot. I have never used more than enough throttle to get any more than about 3000 RPM and haven't been run over yet. I think that you might be having the same issue that all of the reviewers are having. The Patriot with its CVT seems to respond much better to partial throttle for acceleration.
Try applying moderate pedal pressure and you might be surprised how quickly it will get going.
City Driving: Starting from a dead stop I apply the gas just hard enough for it to rev to about 3000 then I actually ease up a bit while it drops RPM to about 2000 and I get up to 45 MPH just as quickly as everyone around me.
Interstate: Again, I have not needed more than 3000 RPM to get to interstate speed, 65 MPH, even on the short on ramps.
