Has anyone tried to get the standard Patriot 16" wheels, as I am keen to fit some higher walled tyres to my Patriot" The basic sport model ships with these in the US...... There are many more brands and treads available on the 16" rim 6.5 sizing? Anyone able to help on this?

I'm also wanting to do this, as I'm struggling to find a decent 235/65/17. I did find a place on Ebay that was selling one steel wheel, went to their website, and then my laptop crashed, when I got it going again the auction had ended and I could not find the place again for love nor money!
Cooper do a Discoverer ATR on a 235/65/17 but I'm still waiting to hear back to confirm they actually do it cos' there was some confusion at the fitters. This looks like a good tyre, is their any reason why you want a smaller wheel/taller tyre? for offroading? Why is this better than a 235/65/17? Sorry for the questions, I'm a car offroad novice although I was in the army for 10 years!

The smaller wheel size gives a much bigger choice of tyres, some of which are WAY better than the UK standard supply tyre tread. Personally I prefer the deeper wall in rubber when it comes to coping with the major potholes etc we have in central Scotland, if you are needing to use chains, and generally leaves the wheel less vulnerable to damage if going into the rough. Got a quote today from the local JEEP franchise... they want approx £100 per steel wheel imported from Germany!! I did look in the US and found a mopar approved dealer selling for less than half this price. Emailed them to get shipping costs but the emails keep getting returned as address unknown..... Anyone interested in going for a batch and splitting the cost of post and import duty? Can we get a UK bulk purchase thing going??

The UK spec Wrangler (base model) has 16" steel wheels although they are 1/2 an inch wider than the Pat, will these fit? Guessing that they will be over a ton a wheel anyway unless you can find them on ebay. I got a price to ship a Rocky Road Lift kit from the US and it was $530 including the price of the kit which was $320. Guessing 4 tyres will be the same, I would be interested in doing something like this but can't afford it at the mo....... bloody reccession isn't over yet you lying idiots!

The stud pattern for the Pat is 5/144. The same as the Hyundai Tucson, would you believe. Hope this helps.

Been checking a bit more round this. Cherokee wheel is too deep and will rub seemingly. I am a bit of a novice here too, but would the Tucson steel wheels have the right depth?
Anyone up for a joint shipment of wheels, as most of the cost seems to be the shipping?
