: What after market parts are you looking for?
Jeeperman 12-12-2006, 08:24 PM Hi, This is Jeeperman we are going to making products for the Patriot. We want to know what you want to see first. Let us know. We will be keeping an eye on the site to see what direction things head.

unclejjg 12-12-2006, 09:42 PM Jeeperman,
This is what I'd like to see:
1.) 2 - 3" lift
2.) rear locker
3.) bumpers - like the ones on the SEMA concept that increase approach and departure angles.
4.) something (new exhaust system, air intake...something) that will increase hp and torque by about 10%.
I'm sure that is too much to ask, but I figure if I mention 4 things, maybe we'll get 1.
BigDuke6 12-12-2006, 11:18 PM WOW, thats great that an outfit such as Jeeperman is cranking up to make some Patriot goodies. The one thing I would like to see first is a lift.
superdave 12-13-2006, 02:07 AM some performance parts increasing HP and torque would be on the top of my list.
xjtke611 12-13-2006, 08:52 AM BUMPERS!!!!!!!!!!!!
Front and rear!
unclejjg 12-13-2006, 09:46 AM This is pretty exciting....I love the initiative Jeeperman!
pdxbubba 12-13-2006, 04:01 PM THANK YOU!!!!!!!! and welcome to the forum!
Things I would not only like to see but would actually (depending on price) buy and install are: 2"-3" quality lift
light weight front and rear bumpers with 'D' rings - design must improve approach and departure angles without adding a significant amount of weight. I am happy with a tube style, too.
rock sliders to protect the sides and not decrease the breakover angle.
snorkel that allows for greater air flow and increased water fording ability.
Jeeperman 12-13-2006, 05:05 PM We will make front and rear bumpers for sure. We already have ideas for it just waiting to get our hands on one. I am sure that the big lift companies will have one for it. In addition we will have some other products that you will love to get your hands on!

I'm not so sure the big lift companies will see the value of this vehicle in the same light as we all do.
As for the other products....any hints?

xjtke611 12-13-2006, 05:36 PM I can't wait to see what designs y'all well come up with. Now that I've had a little time to think about it, here are my suggestions.
Front Bumper
w/ shackle mounts
2" receiver (for portable winch :D)
Front WINCH Bumper
w/ the same features above
Light Hoops (Grill Guards)
Use current TJ light hoops. It would keep costs down. Plus be an easy bolt on later.
Rear Bumper
w/ shackle mounts
2" receiver (for portable winch :D:D:D)
Rear Bumper Tire Carrier
w/ the same features above
Use current TJ tire carrier. So we can add jerry cans mounts. (13.6 Gal stock is kinda on the small side)
Basically, do for the Patroit what y'all do for the Wrangler.
I pretty sure the Patriot will surprise alot of people. But it will need some help.
Jeeperman, THANK YOU VERY VERY MUCH!!!!!
pdxbubba 12-13-2006, 09:33 PM I would need to see it in person... I might need some fender flares to keep it legal if the replacement tires stick out too far.
The factors I keep in mind are functionality (it's a wheeler/daily driver for me), weight (it's a fuel efficient little 4banger - weight will bog it down and cost gas mileage), and affordability (single family income).
Weave 12-14-2006, 09:44 AM It looks like some of the basics have been requested, but I've got a few more things to add:
- Heavy Duty Skid Plates (I'm sure the OEM ones will be just enough to be called a 'skid plate')
- Roof Rack w/ ability to mount lighting, hi-lift jack, shovel, axe, sand ladders, limb risers, spare tire, etc.
- Swing Out Spare Tire Carrier for HD rear bumper w/ optional mounting for jerry cans, coolers, hi-lift jack, CB antenna, etc.
- Front Bumper/Bull Bar w/ options of integral winch mount (or receiver option), anchor shackle mounts, CB antenna mount, etc.
- Rear Bumper w/ receiver and anchor shackle mounts, optional tire carrier (see above), hi-lift jack mount, CB antenna mount, etc.
- Rock Rails/Sliders (form following function - no need for running board/nerf bars types)
- Snorkel air intake kit
- Suspension System (2-3") maintaining CV angles or upgrading half-shafts for increased wheel travel. Ability to fit 31"-33" tire/wheel combo
- 2.8L CRD or equivalent compatible diesel engine conversion kit
- Selectable Locking Differentials - Front and Rear
I can't wait to see what the aftermarket brings to the table! Thanks Jeeperman!

X2!
Thats why I think 2" receiver bumpers front and rear are the way to go. If you go front and rear you will add about 175lbs max to the weight of your rig.
A winch weighs about 100lbs. Thats a bit too much weight to be hauling around on a daily driver. Portable winch mounts would be perfect for this application. Besides you can move a portable winch to any vehicle with a 2" hitch receiver.
This is another reason I am waiting for the Diesel Patriot. I'll have fuel economy with enough power to play.
Jeeperman 12-14-2006, 01:12 PM Products we will have are listed below...
Tire Carrier
Rear bumper
front bumper
winch mount
gas can holders
rack
air tank holders
skid plates
and a few more things. Keep an eye on the web stie for updates.

pdxbubba 12-14-2006, 03:22 PM How about some Patriot Skidz? I would really like something that will protect the sides, be a step to help getting in, and a step to help load and unload the rack.
Maybe a mini-skid over the fenders that will act as both fender flares and a step so I can really get a step up for loading/unloading the rack!
Rottenbob 12-14-2006, 06:06 PM A 2-inch lift and bumpers are obvious. But how about a behind-bumper valance that can be painted to match the body of the car? Also, a swing-away tire mount on the back, or a replacement hood with a depression for mounting the spare would be nice.
Jeeperman 12-15-2006, 05:41 PM I did forget we will have skids. Those are not to hard. There will be a rack and gas can holders off the tire carreir.
BigDuke6 12-15-2006, 05:55 PM Oh yes, this is sweet indeed!!!
xjtke611 12-22-2006, 06:21 PM Jeeperman,
Now that Jeep is finally making Patriots we are going to need some bumpers.... I understand you probably need to get your hands on one first before you can built your prototypes.... That said... Please post (or PM :D ) pics of your prototypes as soon as they are built.... We (I) can't wait to see them. Thanks again!!!!! :D
HighDesert 12-23-2006, 05:06 AM Since the best performance, given the four banger, will be with the manual tranny, it would be nice to see comparable off-road hardware provided as is with the CVT off-road version. In particular, a 1-1.5 inch lift and some aluminum skids. By example, consider something equivalent to the up-country suspension option provided for the Cherokee which included Bilstein shocks and higher rated springs. I suspect going more than 1.5 inches will create all kinds of issues with the independent suspension as was found with the last version of Toyota Taco. But even a simple "puck" lift in the one inch range would likely be an improvement.
Bumpers would be interesting, but probably need to be aluminum to keep weight under control. Even a simple bull-type bar for the front would be useful for some "deer protection."
Once the turbodiesel becomes available, "chipping" akin to the aftermarket provided for the VW TDI would be nice option.

No kidding. I would love to see them, too.
You know... if you need someone to 'field test' them, please let me know!

How about some headlight grilles? Nice big round headlights remind me of the older models. Only not metal grilles. Nice black poly that pop in under pressure (maybe with some lip stays to hold secure behind the grille).
A full matte silver or matte aluminum billet look grille face covering the entire grille, not just the grille slots.
...a replacement hood with a depression for mounting the spare would be nice.Link please...
