This post is about the stupid legal issues in Finland and as such not applicable to civilized countries.
There is no reference number marked on any the light housings that I can see. This would mean each light is assumed to have a reference number of 20, right? Fog lights can be used at the same time as driving lights, so the sum of existing lights is 80. This does not bode well for adding any lights... (As you may be aware, the rules were recently changed so that 100 is the allowed total sum of simultaneously activated lights.)
Question 1: The stealership does sell additional high beam lights, however. Does anyone have any more detailed information on what kind of lights they use, their reference numbers, and how they modify the existing setup to make those legal?
Question 2: There would also be a possibility of mounting two reference number 10 extra high beam lights. Such things do actually exist, apparently, although they are rare for obvious reasons... The light beam would be quite wide, so perhaps not very useful for seeing far ahead - but they might be able to help widen the light beam to better cope with tight turns on small roads and trails with hard turns, and thus be useful in off-roadish situations. Does someone have experience with such lights? Would they be a helpful addition to a vehicle that already has fog lights?
