Nothing any more, there was during last summer but that ended.
What bothers me is the FEDERAL GOVERNMENT is runing a commercial about your taxes and the guy is explaining life changes he had in the last year, and one of them is "What if I went Hybrid?" Nice marketing but there is no tax break for doing that. Just a good sound byte for a commercial, nothing else.
Typical stupid government (Canada this time)

You can read about it here http://www.tc.gc.ca/programs/environment/ecotransport/ecoauto.htm
I got $1000 back for my 2008 4x4 5speed Patriot.

It ended March 31st, 2009.....:(
On March 31, 2009, the ecoauto Rebate Program concluded its 2-Year mandate to encourage Canadians to buy new fuel-efficient vehicles as part of the Government of Canada's plan to protect the environment.
Note: All applications must have been received by March 31, 2009. Applications received after this date will be returned to sender and will not be considered.
The ecoauto Rebate Program received over 182,300 applications and issued over 169,800 rebates totaling $191.2 million.

They should do this again. At the very least tighten up which cars are eligable. Even if the Patriot is not it was a great program. We received $1000 for our 2008 Patriot 4x4 (Manual Transmission only).

A few years ago I bought a Ford Focus brand new for less then 13,000 off the lot. Its fuel economy is slightly worse then a Prius, and the carbon it emits per mile driven is slightly better. Its easy to point fingers at truck and suv manufacturers now that oil is super high, but just remember SUV's were popular because people wanted them, not because Ford or GM decided to make them. The public at large has made poor and short sighted decisions, and now that the effect is being felt personal responsibility goes out the window and all the blame lands on these "evil" corporations.
