1. Adhesive mount (sticks directly to the roof).

2. Clip-on (no sticky tape involved).

Which one is better?

Thanks in advance.

I don't know about the sticky one. I ordered the Mopar unit from the dealer, and it is the clip-on variety. It was very easy to install. The deflector screws down to two clips which grab onto the front corners of the frame. It helps to have an assistant hold it in place while you put in the screws.

It's the one shown at autotrucktoys.com:

neil,

Thanks for your input.

Does the clip-on hardware compromise the seal anywhere along the edges of the sunroof? Do you have any pictures showing details of how the deflector is attached?

The clips don't touch or compress the rubber. They grab onto the edges of the metal frame.

I don't think a picture would help, because the clips are hidden by the deflector, however, I'll have a look, and if I can get a photo, I'll post it.

Hey Neil,

A wide shot or 2 of the deflector and the Patriot would be AWESOME also.

I don't think we have seen any actual pics of the sunroof deflector in use yet.

thanks!
Jim

I managed to get a close-up of how the clips attach. Hope these help. Don't worry about it being complicated. It isn't. The only difficulty is that the instructions show only drawings, no text. I guess they do that so that they don't have to print instructions in multiple languages.

The one picture you posted explained everything so well. Much better than the so called directions that came with it.
