Friday, I collided with a full size spare truck tire on the interstate. Unavoidable. The tire took out eight other vehicles as it bounced its way under and around cars to the shoulder. Anyway, I now need to have the front bumper, grill, metal bumper, plastic under shroud and a/c condenser replaced. Can I change from a standard bumper setup to FDII type?
With cut outs for tow hooks. What I would really like is the metal bumper like the one on the orange show machine pictured on home page.
I will attempt to attach a picture of the damage.
Can't attach 1Mpxl picture too large.

I thank that you should check with the body shop at your dealership. But, Looking at the "Parts Manual" (Nearlynormaljimmy's site) I don't see why not. It list the front covers, but no parts number are given. The "Body Shop Manual" does not show the plastic body panels at all (that I could find, if I am wrong someone jump in) only metal parts. The show car bumber is not in production, maybe a fab shop could whip one up for you. Don't bother calling "customer service" for parts numbers, they are useless. Good luck in getting parts to fix yours.

Had the estimate done today about two grand. I am going to pay the difference and have tow hooks added. The tow hooks and brackets will add about $200. Something interesting the tow hook bumper shows to cost less than the w/out tow hooks bumper. ? Also, I would like to change to the metal under shroud. As mentioned in the thread about that part, no part # showed up. If I can get a part number I will pass it on. Or if anyone finds it please let me know.

I hope it never happens, but if I crunch the front end I wil be getting the upgraded bumper with tow hooks. It looks like they did a fine job of repairing your damage.

The repair job looks great. By chance, did you get a breakdown of what each part costs to replace?
Reason I ask is at some point I want to switch out the SBO grille for a black grille and possibly, a black bumper.

Wade,
I did not get a clear breakdown list of parts and prices. You can look up parts online through moparpartsamerica.com
Link follows.
http://www.trademotion.com/partlocator/index.cfm?action=getJointLocator&siteid=214583&chapter=§ionids=0,53501&groupid=51817&subgroupid=2292&make=17&model=Patriot&year=2007&catalogid=2&displayCatalogid=2
Also, on their homepage you can download a parts manual.
Note: to add tow hooks you do not have to change the metal bumper. The parts manual is deceptive. There are two hook options. There are the two tow hooks as I have (like FDII). And there is a metal bumper with a single threaded bracket to mount a tow eye. The bumper labeled with tow eye mount does not fit the same under the plastic cowling. I think it either fits a Compass or European Patriot? I just know, it is not what you want.
