I recall when the "Build and Price" section of the website was up and running for the Patriot there was what I felt to be an immediate disqualifier for me and my wife. Namely, you cannot get a sunroof unless you order the Limited model which was $21,000 with a manual tranny. No thanks. My wife and I consider a power sunroof (or moonroof if you prefer) essential and find it ridiculous that you have to get it in a Limited with a leather interior. It reminds me of back when we were considering a 2002 Mitsubishi Eclipse and in order to get ABS you had to get a package with leather and a couple of other options that totaled about $2500. Poor marketing in my estimation but then again what do I know. I just don't see paying over $22k for a Patriot to get the CVT and a sunroof. Your thoughts?

Personally I like steel above my head, rather than glass. I look at the sky plenty from outside of the vehicle.

But I agree that this option seems to be fairly independent from other considerations... why wouldn't they offer it on every model?

i personally can do without the sunroof, but leather on the sport would be nice. i don't really need bright silver bumpers, but that leather interior looks so sweet. plus no static electricity.

Really?!?!? Here I thought we were the only ones who thought that the sunroof as a disincentive. We have had a vehicle with one and 99.99% of the time it was kept closed and covered. Kinda weird since I prefer a wrangler with the top off.

I like having a sunroof.

Pklus the "Build & Price" numbers were not prices to take to heart. That is how DC tests the waters. The prices may be different when released.

I wouldn't mind having the option of a sunroof/leather on all models. The only option I want besides 15" wheels is... Get rid of that silver bumper cover thingy on the limited.

To each his/her own.
