Salut tout le monde!
Yes, I am now the proud owner of a 2008 Patriot North! This is my 3rd Jeep (Yj and ZJ before). I chose it, I'll have it for a long while.
Thanks to all for the great information on this board, I have been reading it almost daily since the spring, to help (it did) with my choices about the Patriot. I'll contribute what I can too.
Outfit: Inferno Red/Dark Slate Yes interior, 5-speed, North package, Security and convenience, Tow, Full-size spare, heated seats.
Already added/done: Fog lights, K&N, Rust Check, blacked-out muffler, home installed Hidden Hitch with 2 " receiver (as per excellent post and pictures in other thread here).
Soon to be: wiring for hitch, home installed (as per excellent post and pictures in other thread here).
Dealer experience in Halifax, Nova Scotia: Excellent! Ordered the vehicle on August 21st, took ownership on October 1st. Pricing: about halfway between MSRP and "invoice". T'was fair to me.
Early issues: yes it leaked...as described elsewhere on the board, through the back flashlight/dome light, but caught early before delivery and fixed. Hood seems weak and prone to vibrating at speed or over rough bumps. These are the thinnest body panels I have ever seen...
Early mileage/km experienced: a couple of tank fulls, 10,5l/100km or 26.9 mpg UK/Canada or 22.4mpg US... and that's being reaaaally nice on the go pedal... I expect to break under 10l/100km or better than 28.25mpg UK/ Canada or 23.52 US in a couple of months. This readings are also only from the EVIC, I'll be checking at fill-ups too. Will do long travel to Québec and Ontario next summer, to test highway mileage.
And yes, I love it! And yes, it will see dirt and possibly a Jamboree (mild but fun for sure). Jeeps are made to work.
See you on the trails! À la prochaine!
