well yes it's nice to have but i didn't see the height adjustment option for seats i think i would have to get some other edition a more expensive edition to have as a standard feature

mpy041, I would go in to various delaers and sit in a few. My Limited has an adjustment to make the seat higher, not lower. Intuition tells me that any configuration of Patriot would have the lowest seat as standard.

I like Quasi's suggestion: Go to a dealer and sit in the Patriot without the feature to get an idea for yourself.

think of it like this... Assuming you're financing the car, it will only cost you an extra couple dollars per payment to have included.

great idea quasi. Yesturday i sat in my cousins 96 gran cherokee and it has the height adjustment so i put the seat way up high i was ok leg room etc and the patriot has more head room than the 96 GC so that put a smile on my face. I will go to the dealer this week and try it cause i would rather get the 17 OEM wheels instead but we'll see thax for the help guys.

Proper capitilization and punctutaion wouldn't hurt either, but I wasn't gonna mention it....

DITTO that.

By all means try one out and see for yourself, and be sure to make that both a static and dynamic test. First on the lot with the vehicle parked and then on the road during a reasonably long test drive to see if it your sightlines are good and that the vehicle seat height suits you while driving.

FWIW, I'm exactly 6'0" tall and am totally comfortable with the fixed-height seat.

Sure the 'Height-Adjustable Driver's Seat' is an option that's nice to have but if you don't require it, and since getting it adds another couple thousand dollars minimum to the sticker price of the vehicle, save your money and just add the tire & wheel package and maybe a few other options that appeal to you.

Off topic but related in a way, I find myself having to choose between either a Basic or Limited 2008 Patriot because my body/system can't tolerate the 'YES Essentials(R) Premium Cloth Bucket Seats'. When I sit a model with the YES interior I become almost immediately itchy and my eyes begin to water. I suspect it's an allergic reaction to the chemicals used to treat the fabric. In any case, that's leaves me with no mid-range option: so it's either the Vinyl Tech or leather for me, and I'm leaning towards the Vinyl Tech with a few extra options added.

mpy041,

Get the manual adjustable seat. You'll be glad in the long run... I adjust my seat to different height positions for different types of driving, short city driving and long distance trips. You ratchet it up to raise it up, and ratchet it down to lower it.

I have to agree with ya on that one. I am 6'-4" while my wife is 5'-4". We differ by exactly 10 ratchets up or down from each other. There is no way either one of us could drive the Pat in the other's seat position. Absolutely none. (unless I bought her a New York phone book to sit on. ;) )

Gentlemen,

How does one order the manual Height-Adjustable Driver's Seat as an individual add-on without being forced to order a 'Quick Order Package' that runs anywhere from $2225 (25E), to $3125 (24E), to $3325 (26E)??? Enquiring (sic) minds need to know.

Please remember that the person making the inquiry is on a tight budget and doesn't wish to needlessly run up the tab.

I hear ya Irish, but I don't exactly know how to go about that. My first thought was to call the dealership you plan on buying from and asking them if it's even possible to get that seat without a package attached. Dunno if it can even be done.
(btw, nice sig)

I see, well am glad to hear that someone in this forum is 6 feet and doesn't have the seat adjusters now silly noob and why not dumb question if u don't get the seat mod in my patriot i still get standard seats where u can move ur seat forward back and have the back rest go down, u know stuff i can even find in my old 2000 altima.

BTW my last post was on my phone so that explains my text type post, sorry some girl got me into that stuff

I'm sure you can buy the parts necessary to install an adjustable height seat on a vehicle without it from the factory.

It would be an expensive way to do it if you can order it as an option.

My head hurts after reading your posts! :)

I'm the six footer .. and yes, the standard driver's and front passenger's seats include manual fore and aft as well as seat back rake adjustment capability. Also for a nominal $35 surcharge, you might be able to order the 'Manual Driver Lumbar Adjust' option (Order Code CDL) which I assume is what the name says it is rather than a misnomer for standard 'Seat Back Rake Adjust'. It's listed as a fleet item, but may be available to an individual who special orders their 2008 Patriot.

As far as going to the aftermarket or the Jeep parts pin to add 'Height-Adjustable Driver's Seat' capability, I think you'll find that's either not an option or not economically wise as likely the entire driver's seat assembly will have to be replaced, and probably at significant cost. One alternative might be to look for a matching 'Height-Adjustable Driver's Seat' at an automobile boneyard, though I suspect they are rarer than hen's teeth, if available at all, at this point in time.

In any case, good luck and let us know how you make out resolving this specification issue.

ok so i went to the jeep dealer and sat in a pat that had the standard seat adjusters and it's all i need u can move it back and forward and set the height it's funny how u have to adjust the height with a pump like lever wich is fine with me i'd only change it once.
