Jeep King Adds Europe to the Tour
Vail, Colo. (Ski Press)-When the Jeep King of the Mountain Series (www.jeepsports.com) kicks off its 14th season as professional snow sports’ most prestigious event, it will do so with a decidedly international flavor. Today the series announced that for the first time in its illustrious history, the 2006-2007 Skiing & Snowboarding World Professional Championships will expand its presence beyond North America and into Europe with a race scheduled for Austria.
The Jeep King of the Mountain Series features 24 of the world’s elite ski and snowboard athletes battling one another on a unique Y-cross racecourse for the coveted title of World Professional Champion. The event offers the richest prize purse in the sport, with a payout topping $450,000 as well as $20,000 in bonus cash from John Paul Mitchell Systems and the keys to a new 2007 Jeep Patriot. Each event of the series will be broadcast on CBS Sports and via national syndication, providing tremendous exposure for the roster of Olympians, World Champions and National Champions.
