can the Uconnect work in conjunction with an aftermarket head unit? I'm gonna guess no because the Uconnect automatically mutes your head unit which means it's tied in somehow...

I've been on the fence about installing my aftermarket head unit from my last car into my new Patriot as it seems like a ton of work and hassle.... seems like I would have to buy a few parts too to retain my steering wheel controls as well...
