3rd post down, ""Ponderosa" claims to have seen a Patriot on the road. Could this be?? I think I would drive right off the road if I saw a Patriot on the road.

Isnt it common to test soon to be released vehicles on regular roads and not just test tracks?

I know the JK was spotted in several locations as they took em on roadtrips to do engineering evaluation and such. So, ya never know when you might see one out there. Be sure you have your camera and TAKE PICS!

I think that it is entirely possible to have seen a pre-release Patriot being tested on the roads. I would love to get an up close look at one.

i work at a certain car companys plant thats launching 3 brand new cars this year and since they arnt avaible to be bought by the public yet all the big shots for the car company and all the salary workers are driveing around the production cars here
so people are seeing these cars all over the place here
they let them drive them around to do road tests and see if they really get the mileage they are supposed to get and if they really are as nice as they say they are....
so thats prolly what they are seeing im just guessing though

ill give ya hint too i live in michigan so guess the car company ;)

I hear that just about every cellphone has a camera on it now a days...

Always good to at least have someone on the inside giving us some info. I am sure someone will spot a Patriot in the wild and score some pics, especially since they are supposed to start building them pretty soon. I would also hope they would do the press test drives soon.

I saw a patriot.

I live in Northwest ohio, and travel frequently on the ohio turnpike (90). Almost every week, I see dodge calibers and jeep compasses being transported. Today, I saw a couple patriots on a semi, being transported. I recognized the light khaki (which really looks khaki) and a white one. I was glad to at least see one, even though it was a drive by.

How did it look? Was it comparable in size to the Compass? Was it on a delivery truck?

If production has started, how many are made before they start shipping them?I dont recall ever seeing an assembly plant but how many can be stored before they run out of room?

Probably some preproduction units going out to where ever they plan to do the press show&tell. I would think that would be coming up soon, if they plan to start shooting them off the assembly line next month.

It looked alot like an escape, just alot boxier. The rear window is alot higher up than I thought it would be, compared to the old cherokee. It is pretty high up, like the escape. It actually looks smaller than the compass, but I think that is because of the exterior of the compass is so rounded out, unlike the straight lines of the patriot. It was on a delivery semi, with a few other compasses.

I live near Toledo, where another jeep plant is located. Toledo is a big jeep community, maybe it has something to do with that.

Wow! Great news!

I hope we get to see one in person soon!!!

I'm concerned about the area behind the rear seats. My wife wants enough room to put our dog crate. The Compass cargo area is too small. We should be able to judge for ourselves once we see one in person.

Depending, of course, on the size of the dog kennel, it should fit just fine. If the Patriot is anywhere close to the XJ's storage behine the front row--and it looks as if it is, there will be plenty of space.
