ALLPAR.COM and MIKE'S TOTALLY FREE JEEP NEWS, http://www.jeepnewsnow.com, are reporting that Jeep is working with AEV to reintroduce a compact Jeep pickup truck. Looks as if there will pickup conversion kits for TJ's up to 2006 and sounds as if they (AEV) are working with Jeep on the 07 Wrangler. The name Scrambler was mentioned in the article, along with Brute, which was AEV's version of a Jeep pickup truck.

very very nice. i wonder if they'll begin to sell them with the pickup bodies, and not just the conversion kits.

I think the article mentions that would be a possibility depending on what type of feedback is received on these vehicles.

I really wish that Jeep would create something like the Chevy Avalanche. Super versatile.
Several people out this way have taken some of the early Cherokees and chopped them so the rear window is right behind the rear seat, leaving a small open pickup bed. That works well for hauling the things you don't want inside with you... like fresh from the water crab pots, rubish being hauled to the dump, hauling the harvest back during deer season.

I like the Scrambler photos -- the rear end reminds me of my old 1980 Dodge pickup.

Can't wait to see the JK version.
Even if it doesn't go into production, a DIY kit would be awesome. Besides it would give me a really good excuse to keep my TJ for years.:D
