I hope not. Chrome accents look good, but not when you have both chrome and silver going on.

It will most likely come out sooner or later. If it does I'll probably be getting it because I have a sport.

I have never been a fan of sliver/chrome as "accents"...
to me, more often than not it makes the sliver/chrome look like an "oops we forgot to put on some sliver/chrome". That is why I don't like the Limited, those bumpers look like an afterthought (or just a way to say 'hey I got a Limited).
If there is silver/chrome accents throughout or it is bordered well then it looks like it belongs. (With the '08 Limiteds having a sliver body side moulding it ties the bumpers into the overall look better).

For example, the chrome of the wrangler grille is ok (still a bit too much) because it is balanced with the rest of the chrome accents on the mirrors, bumper, step rails, and wheels.

The chrome on the Liberty looks all wrong because that is the only chrome on the vehicle (there is just a bit of the wheel showing and it does not appear to be chrome) and like the Wrangler it is trying to do too much because the shape of the headlights and grille don't create the space for the "accent".

The chrome on the Grand Cherokee and Commander is good because it is limited to the area boxed in by the headlights, so it looks like it belongs there.

Too me the round headlights that are much smaller than the overall height of the grille don't lend the layout that works well for an all chrome grille (Wrangler, Compass, and Patriot).

Sometimes, less is more.

I think the 2008 Jeep Liberty not the Patriot gets the chrome grille - a la Nitro-style

I read in C&D that both the Compass and Patriot are getting "chrome accents". Not sure if it includes the grille though.

Not sure I would like the way that looks. But to each his own!

I kind of like the way it looks on the Wrangler, though. I would have to see it on someone else's to be able to make a decision.

Chrome on a silver Patriot wouldn't be bad. Chrome on any other color would be too over the top

Mine has a Mopar Chrome grille, but it blends in pretty well...

Not sure how well the Pat would look with one. I wouldn't want one on my Jeep Green one. I like the simple "military" look of my Jeep Green Patriot.

So what do you think of these? I kinda like that Chrome grille insert thingy, although the same stuff is for sale at local car parts stores on a roll (priced per meter) and it's a whole lot cheaper that way.

The door handles do look good but I'm a bit sceptic on them staying on...:icon_rolleyes:

And to the original post, if that chrome grille was available here in Finland for Patriot - I'd get it in a heartbeat. If anyone has a link to an online store selling it please let me know so I can order one for my black Patriot... ;)

My wife's black Commander has the chrome grill and it looks really good. I like it better than the black one's I've seen on the road. I still think that all Jeep should have round headlights cutouts in the grill tho.

I'm kinda sad that it seems that all the Jeeps are going to plastic grills. I guess they will wear better, but not as heavy-duty. My dad's four-door Wrangler, my wife's Commander, and my Patriot all have plastic grills.

I went for that and was thinking of getting the handles painted. Will try to post pics next week. I think the grille works with the dark colours. Don't know about the handles-I think paint will work better.

Handles painted? I think mine are, but then again the car is black so I might be wrong here...

we all want pics of those chrome grille inserts. trust me :) I'd like some close ups, just to see who the inserts are cut (if it's worth to order the set or get em from the parts store and cut them myself).

have ordered handles. standard are black textured plastic...may be hard to paint silver....paint guy says needs lots of hi build primer so i can always rip off the plastic ones if they look crap!!!
