NO! If there was, you would be seeing my Patriot or Wagoneer Jr. in those shots. Not a faux-to-shop wood grain version.

I did e-mail one of the guys who does have a kit for Commander and Liberty(s). He said he would sell me the wood grain contact paper and the a roll of the wood edging. I just don't have the time right now to make up all the patterns and cut out all the parts. If I could buy a ready made kit, it would be fun to install.

I acctually quite like the Woody Concept. Years ago I had a Morris Minor 1000 Traveller ( See Pic) Yep & mine was an Ex MOD car ( Ministry of Defence) same military green as the museum exibit in pic. I believe the rear wood was Ash & was an itegral part of the rear framework not just ornament. There are restoration companies in the UK that are still making parts & frames for these old cars. The Minor 1000 was also available as a Car, Wagon , Pick-up & Panel van.:)

:hijacked: - LOL.

In all seriousness though, nice work. Adding the white wall would give it that extra touch of vintage flair.

As a late comer to this forum, I missed those the first time around. Glad you posted yours again in this thread; now they'll have a proper home in the chop shop.

I am going to make my Patriot a woody as soon as someone comes up with the recipe. Looks good and really fits the character of the car. Somebody get inspired.

They make kits for PT Cruiser, That might work for the Patriot. I'd never do it. I only liked wood grain on the Woddy's back in the 50's. but when you look at the size of the Liberty, I think you would have to do a lot of modification to get it to fit the patriot, I havn't seen the kit for the Calibur yet. But a PT Cruiser parked next to me the other day and the fenders, doors are in almost the same spot as the Patriot. But seening as the Calibur is built off of the same base it might work better.

I have written to several of the companies who make the kits. They say they need someone to come in and pay for a kit to be installed to create the kit. One of them offered to sell me the material by the foot. (for a very high price)

The wood grain contact paper is fairly easy to find. I have not been able to locate any of the 3 dimensional fake wood edging.

so, they want you to pay, so they can make a kitt for the patriot and then make money out of it?

how about you get it for free, and then they can sell the kit to other patriot owners? isnt that how it usually works?

If only the world worked that way. The problem is everyone is too selfserving and greedy. They want your money and to make money off of you. Thats why so many companies want you to refer your friends. So you can do their advertising for them.

The only thing stopping me is that I can't find the plastic edging. The contact vinyl wood sheet is easy to get, but I just can't locate a source for the wood grain raised border. When I do, you will see my Patriot with the "Wagoneer" trim package.

It wouldn't go with all my chrome but I think it could look good on the right colour scheme etc.
