Check out what Soycap put in his Compass. (http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=425672&page=2) (starts at post 29)

I have invited him to come join here and possibly answer questions...

But, like LANZEN proved with his install, it does show that it is possible to get it all working together.

Wow, that's a great job! Looks like a really clean install, almost looks factory.

Thanks for the invite Jim.

The install is straight bolt on and very easy. Really no different than installing any after market HU once you get the right parts (mainly the Metra kit, because it is not marked for use with an MK).

That being said, I really like the work Lanzen has done and would have loved to keep the pocket for our mp3 player. Unfortunately, I think it's more fab than I am willing to do (or have time to do these days). I'm really impressed though.

Hey Soy,

Is that a silver bezel for a REC Nav unit?

Where did you get the surrounding black trim piece?

Where can I buy a silver bezel for $40? On the website is $75! -- you can't from what I've seen. I paid $70 plus tax for mine
And where can I get this METRA 99-6510 kit? For $20? -- Got mine from circuit city, they had to order it though, was $18 or so
What is this CHYAH05 (CANBUS Adapter) for ? for wiring harness? -- Yes and to allow the canbus system in the patriot to remain in tact and working properly, also makes installation easier

Since the above prices are pretty much the same as the dealership I would just order from them. I ordered mine and it came in the very next morning.

Bought mine on ebay, well actually I bought the scosche version which is the CR03SR and it cost me $75 shipped. Either part will work, just find the cheapest one you can.

HI,

I'm also mounting a Pioneer AVIC D3 in my patriot
I want to know whether to keep steering wheel controls just buy the can bus Scosche cr03sr or if they know about the other accessories for as piooneer steering wheel controls work with a kind of audio jack to 3 connections.

I contacted customer service Scosche and they said so :

You need the CR03SR, SWI-JACK, SWCCAN to make the steering wheels controls and your new radio work because of the Can-Bus system

it's is true???
