Now there's a mental image. Pickup, or the very rare van version? Did you ever see the concept "minivan" Brooks Stevens did with the FC? Somewhat like a Chevy Greenbrier, but a Jeep.

I believe some US railroads used these F/C jeeps for track maintainance work, some even going as far as using 4' 8.5 " guage & flanged wheels for track use. The F/C Land Rover was quite a favourite with the British Army.

Here is a Green Bay & Western High-Rail FC. It seems this was snapped after retirement.5563

The NP had a custom 4 door Willys Wagon high-rail in the 1950's.

I saw one of these trucks in Logan, UT going down Main Street. It had been modified with a newer model Jeep Grill. When I saw it I was like WTH? Forgot all about it since, but now I know what it was!

I LOVE the basic function and unapologetic utility of old Rovers. (and Jeeps)

When I was a kid, my neighbor had an FC-170 (and a flattie). Riding around with him on plowing jobs and learning what they could do started a lifelong love affair with Jeeps.
