I'm impressed. Over at Allpar.com, they have unmasked pictures of the 2008 Jeep Liberty. Go, Jeep, Go!

I wonder if my XJ can make it another year:)

I saw that. Something just doesn't look right on it. I love the Commander, but for some reason, the Baby Commander doesn't look right. Perhaps it's because the tires are so tiny. Don't get me wrong, though...I like it better than the current Libby.

Now my only question is how will the JK Unlimited impact the sales of the Libby. I'm assuming the Libby will have the IFS, so it will be a smoother ride. It'll also probably ride quieter than the JK.

But other than that, they both have V6's, are probably close to similar in size, and probably will be in the same price range (they almost have to be, or else the Libby would be as cheap as a pimped out Patriot).

I test drove a new JK Unlimited and it honestly does not feel like a Wrangler with the ride being much quieter and smoother. So since you can remove the top on the Wrangler, why go for the Libby?

I would say the only difference in terms of what people are looking for will come down to looks. If people like the looks of both, I'd assume they'll go after the JK since it has more to offer and less of a tradeoff than other Wranglers.

that's crazy that they already revealed it. you know, i didn't like it at all when it was masked, and when the unmasked picture first came up i didn't like it, because i do like the current libby and the new didn't really look anything like the current one. but in the picture where the 2 models are together, i can see all of the resemblences and it is definitly growing on me.

2008 ... what a freakin' line up!!

They didn't reveal it; one of their personnel got caught napping (so to speak) and let spy photographers get a good long look at the new KK.

I think you're right about the tires. However, that can be quickly fixed by ordering different tires or going to the local tire store.

There are some of us out there who don't really care about ragtops. I can think of better things to do than sit in a vehicle and get scorched by the sun. I know the feeling--I used to ride a motorcycle. Just give me a nice sunroof and I'll be happy.

Now, I wonder how its off-road performance will be? Hopefully, they will give it enough ground clearance to compensate for its longer wheelbase.

Judging by the Nitro, which is the same platform, it does feel a little heavy and slightly slugish with the 3.7 V6. I didnt get much of a chance to drive one yet, just a quick spin around the lot. I think it isnt bad, and should be quite nice with the 4.0 V6 when we finally see them.
