I see in the build and equip section on Jeep's webpage, the nav system is not shown as an option. Has anyone officially heard if the nav will be available in the Patriot? Is the nav in the Compass dashtop mounted or in the dash in place of the stereo? This info probably is not yet available, but I thought I would try :)

Check out this thread for a response from Dr. Z. He says there will be a nav system. It probably just wasn't included in the preliminary equip & price module.

Yes, the nav system will be in the place of the stereo. Looks pretty nice in there but I haven't seen it turned on.
