Has anyone looked into the possiblity of a 6 speed manual tranny? The Caliber SRT 4 has one, but I really don't want to turbocharge. I don't have a Pat yet, but I'd like the idea of a manual that doesn't keep the engine up at 3000 rpm on the highway.

It would not be possible to add as an aftermaket. Nice possible option.

You can get the first two, CRD and six speed tranny right now, IF you are buying the European version. Unfortunately it would also come with a funky export radio... though you would also get the cool roof mount antenna for said radio...

I didn't realize the Euro version had the 6-speed, but I saw pics of it on this sight with a different front bumper. It looks bigger, and definitely stays lower way up front, and would take away from the approach angle if you're worried about that kind of thing. I was mostly worried about RPM's on the highway, but I'm told by a mechanic friend that a manual will still beat an auto since the auto sucks some of the power up. So now I'm not really worried about it.

my patriot should arrive next week CRD 6speed ltd. engine is 2.0 VW PD as used in passat and golf 5.....very easily chipped to give 25bhp more and lots more torque...in autocar last week rated 3rd after CRV 2.0 cdti and landrover freelander td4 2.2..almost as able as landrover off road they say...
