Does anyone know if auto-start can be added to the pat. I know after market ones have you put an extra key under the dash, but I was wanting one that did not have to do that with.
When I asked the dealer they stated that they had nothing in there book to order one.

Can anyone recomend a system that works with a manual transmission, the mopar one says for automatics only? Thanks
On a level from 1 - 10, 10 being the hardest how hard to install. I have never installed one, but am not scared to get my hands dirty. I just do not want to tear into my new jeep only to find out that I can not do it.

Dmentd_Dan - You can get remote start systems to work with manual transmissions, but you probably won't be able to get it installed. It would probably have to be a DIY project. It's a big liability issue for installation shops and as much as I have searched they all say no to manuals.

These instructions (http://site.justforjeeps.com/guide/82208994.pdf)are for the Liberty, oops , no Grand Cherokee, but should give you an idea of what you would be up against.

Thanks jettore, I am pretty good at installing stereos and stuff and I am a tinkerer with electronics so I may take this on once my Patriot gets here. I did a google search and found some that make you put the car in neutral set the E brake tap the breaks twice (unit chirps) turn off the key (engine stays on) and then when you get out and shut the door and the dome light goes out the vehicle will shut off. Thus guaranteeing that the vehicle is safe to start with a remote. If you don't do that process then the unit wont start the car.
The brand that I found I did not recognize as a major brand so I a wasn't sure I wanted to do the project just to have the thing fail on me.

Try searching on some Caliber boards also, since there are so many more of them on the road there's a better chance of finding others already doing this mod.
Does installing a Mopar auto-start void the factory warranty if I install it myself.
I have a '08 pat do not see that year on the list let. Does anyone know when the update the listing?
