Hello,

So I was at my local dealership tonight, in Montreal, and I asked when they were expecting the Patriot to hit the lots. I had a really nice/knowledgeable salesman tell me they are due to arrive October 19th! he really sounded like he new what he was talking about, so I hope he's right!

There has been no Job 1 news story so I would strongly doubt dealers would be seeing a Patriot on 10/19. Maybe that is when Job 1 is scheduled to roll out.

Well, that's also in Canada where they said 10/19. if that is true, hopefully the US release will be very soon after that.

Usually it takes 5 Molsons to 12 Miller Lights. Your dates may may vary.

Maybe he was thinking of the Compass?

Maybe he was thinking of the Compass?

Nope, he drives a Compass himself. I kinda put my foot in my mouth when I told him I don't like the Compass...

there is no way he was thinking about the compass, since they've been for sale for a month already.

what don't you like about the compass?

what don't you like about the compass?

Basically the look of it. The side and back views aren't bad, but the front looks awkward to me. If it didn't have those two lumps under the headlights I might think differently.

yeah, it does look awkward at first glance. it's like a miniature jeep, but in person it looks a lot bigger and better

My wife's first impression after sitting in it and climbing around one for 15 minutes... "Looks cheap."

I think that this level of materials was acceptable about 10 years ago. Our Scion xB cost a touch less (just under $14K new) and has a much higher fit and finish. It feels like money well spent. But we are looking to the Patriot anyways.

yeah, i agree. my wife drives an 02 liberty and i drive an 4 JGC, and i often feel like the liberty looks really cheap (even though it's fully loaded), but when i sat in the compass it completely changed my perception of our liberty.

i think the patriot will have very similar materials, but it might look a little better put together since it will cost more. hopefully all the wondering won't be for too much longer.

^^A loaded up Compass is more expensive than a loaded up Patriot.

compass with Auto, AWD and AC,
came to about $21K-$22K

Patriot with 4x4 Lev II, CVTII, AC,
comes to about $20K,

only looking at auto because of the wife,

dont understand how or why, but the 4x4 patriot cost less than the compass,
