And, if Iīd take a approx guess, Iīd say that an average income for one person in Norway, is about 40 000 - 45 000 USD. Maybe Thomas can help me out with some more accurate figures here, though...

Here in France no Patriots available yet, but the Compass goes for around 26000 Euros fo the 2L CRD Limited.

Rubicon is not yet imported in Greece and the 2.8CRD unlimited costs 44000€

Just for reference, the best price I've been able to find in US (and I'm still looking) is $14000 USD including all taxes and fees for Sport 2wd w/25D only, and $14200 USD for Sport 2wd w/25D and CVT only.

Negotiating with the salesman I got my fully-equipped Limited for 27,000 last November.

The U.S. prices are ridiculously low. I understand that the diesel engine is more expensive, that export models have different specifications, that you have to transport them overseas, and that a lot of fees and tariffs have to be paid. But c'mon, these days you're paying almost 1.6 dollars for an Euro! American cars should be a lot cheaper here. Chrysler could be a big seller if it took advantage of the currency exchange rate. Maybe here there's someone who knows about international business and could provide an explanation.

In the States, the Patriot is a very affordable SUV, one of the cheapest you can buy there. But in Europe its price almost triples, but the car is still the same. That's why I think the Patriot doesn't really stand up to its price in Europe concerning fit and finish and equipment features.

I got back from Czech rep. 10 days ago. I visited Jeep dealer out there and base prices of Patriot 4x4 look like this:

These prices include 19% VAT, but no registration and licence. Also all models have charge US$830 for metallic paint! I tried to price my Pat (US$18,600 OTD) and result was US$41,920! I love my Pat!
