: Where do you put your loose change?
DJ XS 08-06-2007, 11:20 PM I have had my Patriot for 5 days now. I already took it bogging in the mud, up a few dirt tracks and already washed it twice! I was hungry after giving it some tlc and decided to go grab a burger. I ordered a double meat, triple cheese burger with onion rings and a large drink. Once I paid and received the change, I was like, "Where the hell do I put the change?" I know there is that little boxy shaped reservoir left of the 4x4 lock, but I don't want to put anything small in it because before you know it, it will be full, dirty and sticky. So where do you put your change?
1inchgroup 08-06-2007, 11:23 PM In a 5 gallon water bottle inside my house.
Wait till it gets about half full, and take it to the bank. Toy shopping without the pain. Last time I cashed it in was over a thousand bucks.

Yeah, I know, I keep change at home also, but I was referring to the loose change that most of the others leave behind in their ash trays, which we do not have!
1inchgroup 08-06-2007, 11:28 PM Jus' messing with ya. I've actually been using the ashtray cup because it's removable and easy to empty. Fits into the cupholders in the back no problem.
That little box to the left of the 4wd lever definately traps dirt. That's gonna be a canned air item on detailing days.
DJ XS 08-06-2007, 11:32 PM Ok, for those of us that dont have ash trays, as they did not come standard with most patriots.
mountainannie 08-06-2007, 11:53 PM In a little round jar that fits into one of the cupholders. If I have another passenger I can move the jar inside the armrest. I keep my cell phone in the rectangular place next to the 4 wheel lock that way it's right next to the charger.
Az-Patriot 55 08-06-2007, 11:58 PM I use an altoids can, it works great, and you can move it around according to situations since it fits into all of the compartments
Oldkayaker 08-07-2007, 07:46 AM Ok, for those of us that dont have ash trays, as they did not come standard with most patriots.
I have a 4X4 Limited and didn't think I had an ashtray or lighter until I opened the bag containing my trailer tow wiring harness. Among the parts was a small cardboard box containing a cup which fits in the cupholders and a teeny-tiny lighter.
newjeepgirl 08-07-2007, 08:56 AM They forget to put in the smokers group in ours, but we didn't worry about it since we don't smoke. Change is a good use for it. We do what mountainannie does and keep it in the back cupholders.
oldskidog 08-07-2007, 11:00 AM So who uses real money anymore?
quasimodem51 08-07-2007, 03:17 PM I just bought a new Patriot. What makes you think I have spare change?:p
pdxbubba 08-07-2007, 03:41 PM I've got daughters.
ryan_p17 08-07-2007, 07:31 PM my pocket.
1inchgroup 08-07-2007, 10:47 PM http://www.fastpictures.com/images/oneinchgroup/bah.jpg
I think I'm gonna need a bigger change cup.
DJ XS 01-30-2009, 08:30 PM Ok, well this is where I put my spare change.
spi8a 01-31-2009, 07:13 AM so I must say that I'm lucky one having the smoker's group. I'm a smoker but don't smoke in my riot. So I use the ashtray for change
wwworth 01-31-2009, 09:31 AM In the rectangular area next to the Lock lever and I keep a folded Mac's napkin in the bottom so cleaning just means a stop at Mac"s to spend the change and get new napkin.
tartntiny 01-31-2009, 03:25 PM I never keep change in the jeep. That is just asking for trouble in Winnipeg! Unfortunately we have an excessive amount of car thefts/break ins here, one of the highest in Canada. Some loser was going around the parkade I use downtown and was just breaking windows and collecting the change! The car next to me was broken into but not my jeep. There is nothing visible in there except for a little dog blanket and mushers wax. The girl said the change was the only thing missing, all her cd's were still there. And here we have loonies and toonies (one dollar and two dollar coins) as change so more tempting for thieves.
Ted_Z 02-02-2009, 11:59 AM I use the rectangular bin next to the e-brake behind the cup holders. I bit more out of sight then the one under the power outlet/cigar lighter. Kind of a drag that 'riots don't have a ash tray as they are perfect for change (as a non smoker).
tiptronic 02-02-2009, 12:51 PM The Uk Patriotrs come with smokers kit as standard--- Yea I smoke but ash goes out the window & Ashtray is for small change!!
Ted_Z 02-17-2009, 12:38 PM I was at the junk yard over the weekend and picked up a coin holder from a late '90's Chevy Blazer. It fits nearly perfectly in the rectangular hole next to the ebrake under the 110v plug. Below is a picture of said coin holder. I also found a picture of the assembled center console on the 'net for reference. Installed pic's to follow.

DJ XS 02-19-2009, 07:47 PM Hey Ted Z, I remember having one of those coin holders way back in the days. Thats a perfect location;better than mine, because it is out of sight since it lies under the handrest.
silvermike 02-19-2009, 08:54 PM Sigh - in my 401k.
thjeep 02-19-2009, 09:36 PM I use that boxy hole next to the 4x4 lever and yes it will get a little dusty but I empty it often because I hate hearing it rattle and make noise when I hit a bump on our rough roads... and speaking of rough roads.... but I guess that should wait for another thread..
my wife has one of those coin holders in her Liberty
mrsmith02 03-08-2009, 06:42 PM I took one of my daughter's Tupperware juice cups and placed inside the armrest. Does the trick as long as you have something next to it to keep it from tipping over (my sunglasses case worked for this).
koolkatken83 03-08-2009, 09:26 PM ...The car next to me was broken into but not my jeep. There is nothing visible in there except for a little dog blanket and mushers wax. The girl said the change was the only thing missing, all her cd's were still there.
Who wants CD's anymore!:hammertime:
- George - 03-09-2009, 06:38 AM I put my coins in the removable ashtray.
rocal 03-09-2009, 08:41 AM I just know you're all going to think, "Where the hell is this guy coming from", but...what's a 110v plug? Is that a 110 volt plug? If so, what's it for? And, (even stupider question now), does 110volts go in it or come out it? And now for an even stupider one: if the 110 volts comes out, then how does it get in there in the first place?
I can't imagine that we'd have the equivalent thing in a European model, (or would we, fellers?) since most currents over here are 230-240 in the UK and Eire or 220-230 in the rest of the E.U. I'm just thinking something along the lines of, how confident would you be stepping out into a wet puddle with your hand on the metal door knowing that, somewhere in your vehicle there was 240 volts zippin' round the wiring?
Rocal
A friend of mine who was working installing a canning factory in Russia once told me that they had 320 volts in their foreign workers' compound! You'd think twice before easing a piece of bread out of your toaster with a fork over there, wouldn't you?
tiptronic 03-09-2009, 08:53 AM Nope we dont get the 110v gizmo in our cars cos we work on 240v. However you can get an inverter to convert 12v cig lighter socket to 240v if you want to run lap top or camping kettle from your car, but I would keep engine running at same time!!
Boy George 03-09-2009, 08:55 AM I think nobody has a problem with the change anymore since the global crisis started. It`s not change, it`s what you have to live on!
rocal 03-09-2009, 01:19 PM :D
Good 'un, George!
culdbbi 04-26-2009, 07:21 PM Well it has been awhile since someone has replied here. I put mine in the door handle. As long as you don't slam the door the change stays in. It is right there when you are by the drive up window too.
DJ XS 04-30-2009, 01:06 AM Nice place, hopefully it wont fall out!
MuddRiot 05-16-2009, 03:23 PM I keep mine anywhere, door handles, glove box, on the seat, in the cup holders or somewhere under the carpets. Seriously its ususaly in the door handles. I have to admit that the coin holder from the scrap is a very good idea!
Where do you guys keep your business cards? I keep mines in the middle console fans.
