Anyone know if there is a modification available to make the driver's window auto-up, or the passenger's window auto-down? For my Cooper there is an after-market circuit that plugs between the window switches and wiring harness that adds auto-up to both windows with a "double click" of the switch.

Haven't seen any on the sites I have been looking, I am sure they will be out eventually, the aftermarket items seem to be increasing pretty rapidly.
However, I personally don't like the auto-up feature, I find it a safety hazard even with the double click or toggle up. JMO.

As a former Ram owner belonged to Dodgetalk . com and there is a how too section on how to add this. I imagine its the same for any vehicle. i readit over kind of fast just out of curiosity and it seemed kind of involved to do it.

I don't see it as a safety issue at all. The OEM versions that we've dealt with at work, use an electronic module that senses the rise in current that happens if the window meets an obstruction before it has traveled to the full up position, and then reverses the window. It's actually kinda neat grabbing the window and having it stop and reverse direction. I don't see why someone couldn't offer it as an aftermarket unit, except for the issue of so many different vehicles having so many different power curves of the window motors.

You are right, it is not a safety issue at all as all the windows most likely now have pinch detectors that will stop the window if something blocks it.
My 2007 Commander has auto down and auto up on both the driver and front passenger windows. I am not sure why Jeep doesn't do that for all their models.

Sorry, didn't know the jeep one had that safety device, that makes all the difference.
Honda's don't have that. It would just keep going no matter what! I actually called to ask if they were going to install a sensor for it in the future and their response was that their vehicles are designed safe so they don't anticipate changing it. I then asked if they thought their power windows on the old honda were safe when we didn't have the current toggles (up for up, down for down) and they didn't have an answer (reminded me of a scene from Dogma)...

Mercedes has had for years the ability to get out of the vehicle and head into a store. Push the lock button and all the windows roll up and the sunroof closes.
WOULD KILL FOR THAT!!
My Lincoln LS can open roof and windows as you approach(on hot days), but can't put them all back up.

Alex,
many higher end aftermarket alarm systems can do this. :smiley_thumbs_up:
