My rechargeable light seems to not be charging. It has been in the Patriot for 3 days. Any ideas?

Does it go on and stay on when it is in it's "home" and the liftgate is up?

Yes, the rear light goes on when I lift the gate. Then stays on for a little while. But when I take the light out and push the putton on the side nothing happens. The red LED on the side does not light up either. I guess I need to call the dealer.

It may be the battery in the flashlight.

It's not rocket science, but I added the instructions for replacement here. (http://www.nearlynormal.biz/jeep/jeep_media/installation/Flashlight%20Battery%20Replacement.pdf)

Good Luck,
Jim

Thanks for the instructions Jim.

It seems the unit is flakey, I removed the battery, it read 1.27 volts. When When I put it back together, it turns on sometimes. It also does not turn to the dim mode somtimes. I guess I need to return it to the dealer. Bummer

Yeah, the flashlight is a bit weak. Thats why I will be carrying my Surefire Flashlight. You and every Patriot owner should get one. I can tell you that you wont be dissapointed. Check them out at www.surefire.com:smiley_thumbs_up:

They aren't all that expensive, there's some for more reasonable prices (like $30), but still, the good ones are over $100. They are that good, but I still can't justify them.

Trust me. IMO, they are the best flashlights in the world.

Meh, Surefire is hardly the only brand in the world when you're looking for a good flashlight. Especially nowadays. Brands like Fenix make very bright Cree LED lights for quite a low price.

'Course, personally, I won't be taking my Cree LED-upgraded Surefire C2 off my belt anytime soon if I have anything to say about it. :) Nothing wrong with Surefires, one of the best brands there is. But you do pay for the brand name when you buy one, especially these days.
