I see there will be 2 styles, the Sport and Limited, are there any exterior differences between the two when the Freedom Drive II package is selected?

If it's anything like the Liberty, the foglights will be optional on the Sport. The Limited may have chrome or aluminum accents on the bumpers. Roof racks may be slightly different (black vs aluminum). Wheels will obviously be different as well.

Inside, upgraded seats, optional leather for the Limited with possible aluminum accents (Sport, black plastic consoles...etc...)

This is all just guessing based on previous Jeeps.

...The Freedom Drive II Off-Road Package includes a second-generation continuously variable transaxle with a low range (CVT2L) that engages when the off-road mode is activated, 17-inch all-terrain tires and aluminum wheels, a full-size spare tire, air-filtration system, skid plates, tow hooks, fog lamps and seat height adjuster... source (http://www.allpar.com/model/jeep/patriot.html)

The FD2 also sits one inch higher than other Patriots. This improves the approach angle, breakover angle, and departure angle.

I found this picture over at dodgeforums.com found it interesting, as it has a fully painted bumper, not like what we've been seeing.

So what's the deal with this? Is this actually what the Limited is going to look like, it won't just have a silver bumper insert? Or is that the Sport, and the difference between it and the Limited is the Limited has aluminum/chrome trim?

Hmmmm....I see tow hooks in that pic, so I'm guessing FDII. I am curious if any of the production models are getting the aluminum insert on the bumpers. I thought it was a very nice touch. Or that could be a Sport model with FDII....

Appearance aside, it is pricing out to be very little difference between the Limited and the Sport.... wonder if it will be that close when they hit the lots?!?!

I was hoping to get a stripped out FDII model for under $18K... looks like its going to be a long shot on that dream.

a stripped out FDII model
Yep, probably no such thing. The FDII package includes more than just the low-range transaxle - there's the wheels, all-terrain tires, skidplates, air filtration system, tow hooks, fog lamps, full-size spare, and so on. Ticking the FDII box automatically loads it up!

You know now that you pointed it out, and staring at it for a few seconds I THINK IT DOES SAY 2008

That's probably a nicely equipped Sport model, thus, no silver strip on the bumper.
