New, untitled Patriot with less than 200 miles? $11k would be quite good. What's the MSRP?

lemme put it this way.

i bought a Red Patriot, 2wd 2008. from Carmax, for 13,998.
That is with Crank, Air, and Automatic CVT Transmission & Auto-Stick

so 12,999 is a pretty good deal, especially if its mile are only in the triple digits. But if you want, you can check Official Kelley Blue Book(kbb.com)in order to form more of a personal opinion.

I know i over payed slightly(carmax needs to make some profit..) but 11k-14k is within a reasonable range.

my 2008 4x2 2.4L, 5speed, NO power windows or locks, and steel wheels, with 14,650 miles for 10,988 but it does have the black leather seats with white inserts! but pretty much no options

I paid $9,900 for mine here in Colorado (20k miles 2.4 liter manual). People don't want a 2wd here, failing to realize that this is a front wheel drive vehicle. Front wheel drive does great in the snow.

I got an 08 leftover in January 09 that seems similar to yours. Paid about 3500 under MSRP with no trade-in. They added fog lights and cruise control during our negotiations; I installed the roof rack myself. Your price looks fair but that 08 is getting mighty stale on their lot. I suggest you ask them to include some options if you want them. Its probably easier for them to do that than to trim the price.

I paid 12,000 for my 08 Patriot 2.0 CVT Silver with power windows locks flashlight, mirrors, cruise fold front seat and it had 35000 miles on it. I am in SC. Of course they also gave me $5000 trade in for my 2002 Explorer which is the #1 rated troubled make and model of car on many websites. So I am happy with that.

I got my '08 Sport with sunroof, EVIC, Homelink, and 17" wheels for a little under $14,000 in May, it had 18,000 miles at the time.

I bought an 08 with 29000 miles the Sport E (power windows tinted glass fold front, ac, plug outlet)
with 2.0 and CVT for my trade in of a 2001 Blazer plus $8000 cash out the door 1 year ago. I still dont know if I got a good deal or not.

I thought I was paying alot but at the time cash for clunkers had just ended. A used 4 cylinder was not in demand really. I had planned to trade my blazer in using CFClunkers but I missed it cause it ran out so fast. But I do believe I got more then $4500 which would have been the max for my blazer under cash4clunkers. It was pretty but clanky transmission and hubs but leather and sunroof, but drunk gas.

But $8000 a 8 year old car for at the time 1 year old car. I decided I could live with 2wd

It has really REALLY been an adjustment for me to get used to drivng the Patriot however I never ever took any interest in the Blazer at all.. I mean I put some rack pads on it and I think I vacummed it a couple times.. You know what I am saying? part of the fun of the patriot is foolin with it and seeing how other people fools with theirs, all around the world..... It's more then a 57 Chevy Convention or a pack of El Caminos. In the grand scheme of hings that seems so regional. All around the world even people with them that was messed with and got the steering wheel confused even try to fix theirs up.

Keep in mind my costs as I Added Sunroof in Feb $950 Fog Lights in march $200 added my gig $1000 by the time I was done added leather seats $200 added tires $350 AND OTHER LIL OL Junk here and there

Granted this is in Canada, but '08 models seemed to be going for anywhere between 12 and 14k (CAD) depending on mileage and options. Was looking at them a few weeks ago before I bought my '10. Anything between 12 and 13k seems like a decent price, if the mileage is reasonable.

Hey,
I'm currently looking into buying a Jeep Patriot 08 Northern Edition. From what I've read I'm getting a good deal on it at 12800$ with 33000 Miles. I just had some questions though. Under the hood everything looks fine but I noticed that there were a few things wrapped in electrical tape, is this normal? (I'm not a car person) Also I read that they come with a rechargable flashlight..where is it? I can also provide pictures if needed.

I April 2008 I bought a fully loaded 2007 4X2 Limited for $14500 and it only had 250 miles on it when I picked it up. Most of those were the dealer driving across Georgia to meet me at the GA/SC line.

It's 2011...I think the 2008 that sounds pretty base should be far cheaper...Just my opinion though...

I hate to be the one to break it to you, but from what you described you have a 2008 '26D' base model just.like I had, and those seats are vinyl, not leather.

found a 2008 4X2 2.4L CVTT2 with auto-stick with 35k miles. inferno red paint with gray interior. 17" aluminum wheels. power locks, windows, keyless entry. going with an extended 4 year/70k mile factory warranty. sticker price 21k, being sold for 15.5k. Does that price sound steep?

Since Chrysler has gotten back on their feet, prices have climbed upward, fewer deals on new ones, etc., so I think you're doing OK. I got mine in Jan 09 (see above in this thread) when they were frantic for sales. Your price is about what I saw one identical to mine last summer with 35K miles. Yours has a lot more options, so I think it looks fair, even pretty good.

I don't know where you live, but not having 4wd may be a point for you to negotiate your price down further esp if you live in snow country. I do, but the Patriot is about the best FWD vehicle on the road and you really don't need 4wd if your local road agent is on his game. In my town snow removal hasn't been as good as previous years, but I've still not had a problem, and we've got some good hills to deal with.
