That's what I want to do to mine when I get it. Just have to find a shop that does it. I'd like to do it to our Nissan to.

Oh wait I noticed the wheels, I'm not a fan of the all black wheels. I saw the front tinted windows, I want to do that, not the black out wheels.

Did you black out the muffler

I didn't do anything yet. just photoshop'd the wheels and tint. I am getting the windows tinted Monday tho!

I like the tint. (Added that to mine)
And I do like the black wheels, but... not really on the blue. I do think I would like it on a black one tho.
I am a fan of the 'stealth' car look.

Cheers,

Jim

Really great Photoshop job. I like the tinted front windows and the black Rims, it looks sharp.

I think a black Limited pat would look really good that way, even better if the roof rails, silver on the bumpers, and the muffler were also all black

I like it a lot! Wonder how it would look on mine (green). Good job! I'm thinking of getting the front windows done at 50% which is the legal max amount in the state of Wisconsin.

Trinity,

Is your Jeep still buckin' in first?

Agree with bumpers for sure.

I am going to price having them painted.

Cheers,
Jim

The first time I saw these rims (on the compass) I immediately thought to myself "those would look great with a black inlay", meaning the raised part of the rim would still be silver, the lugnuts and center cap silver, but the remaining five spoke depressed area would be black or gunmetal. They have somewhat done this by darkening it a little bit, but a little more wouldn't have done any harm imo. When I get a few minutes later on I'll photoshop it and post it.

Edit, photoshop now attached...

i actually saw a compass rallye edition at the dealer we got my pat from. it was silver w/ the black aluminum rims.

they wouldnt look too bad on a pat if you ask me.

Yea likewise.

I had seen this (http://www.partstrain.com/images/The_Auto_Blog/JeepPatriot.jpg), just a random google image search, before I bought mine and really dug the wheels on it. (Not to mention I really like that integrated roof rack/lights)

Is this something a good aftermarket wheel/rim shop can do?

I'm a do-it-yourselfer and I think with the right tools you can do this for cheap. If you go to your local car/hardware store, they sell wheel paint. Its a durable finish that will not corrode with road debris and brake dust. From experience a good aircraft or metal stripper works great, sand the bare metal, apply the paint (as per directions on can, maybe a primer as well), let dry and enjoy. The only problem with a two-tone wheel is the amount of masking that is needed to produce a good, sharp line (then multiply that by 4 wheels). But back to the original question, yes a good wheel shop/pain shop could do this for you.

Seems to be better now. Maybe it was just old gas in the tank.

Does anyone know what % tint matches the factory window tint?? Thanks

My guess would be 15% or 20%. Not too sure about that dark, but I know in Ontario, Canada the max you can go on the driver/passenger front windows is 35%, any windows behind that is anything you want.
