Oh that's awesome (well probably not for the driver). Perhaps it was a spinout, and the side of the front bumper hit the pole that was already at an angle and the car slid right up it. That's about the only non-photoshopped idea I could think of.

The phone pole was originally on the other side of the road. The lines are down low which confirms that a pole is missing. When the pole went over the embankment it was lifted up with the white car holding it in place. The Volvo was lifted up by leverage and you can see it is almost a perfect seesaw. The Volvo has almost no damaged which confirms it was traveling at little or no speed when the incident happened. I suspect a tree is the cause but the photographer left that out of the picture.
