: Ordered my 2010 Jeep GC.....
frosty 07-02-2009, 05:05 PM Hey all,
Just ordered my 2010 Jeep GC (Hemi, Limited)....now the wait begins since the Detroit plant probably won't resume until July 27th at the earliest...and it could be anywhere from 4-8 weeks after that until delivery.....ho-hum........
Traded in my black 2008 Jeep GC (diesel, Overland).....Chrysler is not making the Overland for 2010 and neither was the diesel offered so had to go with the Hemi and the Limited....
Didn't like the black much either....I found it showed too many surface scratches and really only looked good after a wash and polish.....so, this time I went with the Light Greystone Pearl.....only had a few color choices for 2010....not really my favourite color of all time but didn't have a lot of choices....
I am going to trade it in when the 2010 when the 2011 comes out anyway so no big deal.....Love the look and all of the new features of the 2011.... HOpe they come out with a diesel version!!
UA_who 07-02-2009, 06:52 PM Congrats. That will be a sweet ride.
But I'd take your trade-in in a heartbeat. Overland with the diesel is a rare combo - and probably the best for off-roading of the GC's.
whitegt01 07-03-2009, 01:23 AM why not keep your diesel until the 2011 is available, by then your "new" 2010 will have depreciated, and you waste money on the delivery fee, taxes, license, and other fees.

Yes, i would agree with you....had Jeep offered an Overland or a Limited with the diesel, I would have ordered it over the Hemi....

That would definitely be the wise 'financial' thing to do...no doubt about it....I thought about doing that but I really hate the black clear coat color (drives me crazy to see those surface scratches so easily) and my mileage was getting up there as well...
I got a really good deal on the 2010 order though....really great incentives right now and I am an employee purchase as well (brother works at Chrysler in the Brampton plant).....so the difference in price was not that much...
I realize I am going to take a hit in depreciation when I trade it in in less than a year but it was such a good deal to get a new car with a better color (personal opinion), that I couldn't pass it up....

but you're only going to be driving it for a year lol. but hey, if you can afford why not :smiley_thumbs_up:
you're supporting American/Canadian jobs with your purchase and fueling the economy where as most are being conservative. props to you! :smiley_thumbs_up::smiley_thumbs_up:

Ya, I like to support Chrysler since my bro works at the Brampton Ontario plant and I honestly think very highly of the GC versus any other medium-sized SUV (foreign or American-made).....great vehicle city or highway....
...I do hope they offer a diesel option again at some point soon....
Update on order:
Production of the 2010 GC's started Aug. 17....my dealer tells me my order is now in production and has been issued a VIN....couldn't order an Overland since that model has been discontinued for 2010 so had to order a Limited....chose the light graystone pearl color since didn't have many colors to choose from...
yee haw......hurry up and wait....
frosty 09-07-2009, 11:13 AM Update:
Dealer indicates ship date from Detroit is Friday Sept. 11...
so, I figure about one week or two for shipping.....
should have my 2010 GC by the end of September for sure:smiley_thumbs_up::smiley_thumbs_up:.....
No 2010 GC's around yet that I have seen on dealer lots...
Just noticed a couple of 2010 Wrangler Sports though that just came in but their production started slightly earlier than the GC....
frosty 09-17-2009, 12:40 PM Update on 2010 GC delivery:
ETA dealer delivery: Sept. 20 or 21st.....:smiley_thumbs_up:
...will post pics as soon as it comes in (and I have a chance to wash and polish, of course)....
You really have to want a Jeep GC to wait almost 3 months....initial order at dealer was June 30th....
navy48 09-17-2009, 03:06 PM CONGRATS on your soon to be Grand Cherokee!
Like someone else said, I would have waited and ordered a 2011. Of course I imagine there will be a BIG difference in price.
The new 2011, to me, is much better looking than the '05-10 WK model. That one just never grew on me, much like the '02-07 KJ.
Kahbrohn 09-17-2009, 05:40 PM Pix Pix Pix..........Can't wait to see them!

Well, I do plan on ordering a 2011 when available....but the main reason I traded the 08 was that I really didn't like the black....found that even with careful washing and polishing.....you could easily see scratches on the paint.....drove me crazy....never buy a black one again....
frosty 09-21-2009, 06:52 PM Hey all,
Just received this pic from the dealer showing my new 2010 ride just arriving off the truck from Detroit...:smiley_thumbs_up:
Will pick up this week sometime.....:)
....getting splashguards put on....
frosty 09-28-2009, 04:39 PM Hey all,
Picked up my Jeep from the dealer and thought I would post some pics of my new 2010 Jeep GC Limited....
Great ride as usual.....both city and highway....:smiley_thumbs_up:
I opted for the Hemi option, Nav, sunroof, 18" chrome wheels...
