...this price is getting up there with the base price of the 4 door wrangler... makes the 4 door wrangler another possibility for my choices...

My 4WD FDII Sport came to 22,250. More than I was hoping, but realistically an outstanding price for a 4-wheel drive vehicle with low-range.

Now, if they'd just offer a diesel ...

After seeing how quickly the price goes up from base to off-road ready, I'm curious to see how they will price the new 2008 Liberty now. My Patriot design ended up around $23,500. The current Liberty with full-time 4WD is $27,245.

Especially when you look at the price of the '07 Wrangler, which starts at less than the '06. If the redesigned Liberty can produce the same value and offer a full-time 4WD option (select trac), isn't it worth considering for those of us looking at the Patriot now?

One more year of saving would likely make up the difference in price and it would offer a more off-road capable vehicle than the Patriot.

Just tossing ideas around.....I guess it all depends on what this Patriot can do.

I sent an email to Jeep asking about the patriot and their response included this line: "The Patriot is currently in production and should be at your dealer's showroom soon."

i hope thats the case. i have two local reps competing for my business, one says late dec. other says in a month. after statements like that of explnglke, my money is with the latter.

When the link was working I've found an interesting info.

The base price of the Patriot will be 14,985 $.

1,000 $ more than the Dodge Caliber and 1,000 $ less than the Jeep Compass,
useful to compare the real Jeep Patriot range of prices.

...the price is dropping and I really like the looks of that!! We will still keep our options open on the 4 door wrangler, too

Prices are giong up again, my equipped Patriot has gone up like $1100 in a few days.

Leaking more and more into well equipped Wrangler territory.
