I was browsing Jeeps Canadian website (www.jeep.ca) last night and I was looking to see if they still offer the Diesel GC. They do but the model year is different... 2008.5??????

I guess this is to designate that they have a large surplus of 2008's??????

Anyway I got a good chuckle cause it reminded me of when I bought Battlestar Galactia season 2.0 and 2.5! :D

I live in Ontario Canada and I actually own a 2008 Jeep GC diesel. The reason the 09 diesel's were tagged as 8.5 was that they stopped making the diesel GC on Nov. 24/08 (middle of the 2009 year). Actually they are very few, if any at all, new diesel G.C.'s left in Canada at this time (or any new ones with any gas engine either---due to the recent downtime of the plant. I know because I searched for one to buy for the last few months both in Ontario and other provinces.

The diesel GC is no longer being made for the Canadian market for the foreseeable future--including the 2010 model year.

They sold very well in Canada though and I hope they come out with a new diesel version at some point in the future. Great vehicle with respect to power/speed/towing and great gas mileage and great resale value!!!
