Started doing a little browsing around to take a look at some trail reports...kind of give myself an idea of what I can expect the Patriot to handle. Stock, it looks like it's able to handle 2.5 difficulty rated trails...

A few links I came across the past day or two. Maybe this will give someone a good idea for a run in their area. I'll update this list as I run across interesting items. Feel free to add your own also...

Pretty good reports here, small pictures though (http://www.4x4now.com/trlrpt.htm#Utah)

I have been doing the same hand have found different ratings for different sites. Of course, the ratings are established by those who typically have a more capable vehicle, as the Patriot has a lower ground clearance than most typical stock 4x4s. I just ran Loch Lomond in CO last weekend and that was about the max I'd want to do without rockrails to start. According to traildamage.com this trail was a 2 out of 10. According to 4x4trails.com it was a 5 out of 10. By my rating, it would have been an 8 or 9, not because it's hard necessarily, but because rocks a couple inches bigger and I would have had damage. The moral here, be very careful selecting a trail. It is best to get some advise from someone who's done it before.

Yeah, not planning on doing anything nuts with it...at least not yet. Got to put it on a gravel road and some ATV trail last weekend, a little side trip on the way to the range. Did better at both than my Frontier did. The V6 was stronger, but it slipped and spun a lot. Patriot was nice and stable, didn't bounce as much as the truck did either.

Seem to be quite a few really insane trails here. Noticed that there seemed to be 2 different scales to rate the trails too. 1-5 and 1-10. I think the 2.5 one was in the Expeditions West review.
