: ECOAuto Rebate
kanus 07-01-2007, 05:10 PM After purchasing my Patriot, I automatically assumed I just needed to apply for my $1,000 rebate and I would get it in a couple of months. When I went to their website, it indicates that details of the program would be available in the coming months. It also indicates the government is aiming to have the program in place for the fall of 2007.
Does anybody have any additional information/knowledge of when the ECOAuto rebates will be available?
homac 07-07-2007, 11:13 PM They have not ironed out how to apply yet, however any 4x2 Patriot will qualify for the $1000 rebate. No 4x4 does, so you will be out of luck there.
Keep your receipt and you can submit once they are ready to take them.

kanus 07-08-2007, 08:00 AM My 5 spd 4x2 Limited will qualify for the rebate as well. I'm really glad I went with the 5 spd. It's so easy to drive and getting the rebate is a bonus.
I was really irritated with my dealer, during negoatiations they told me my limited 4X4 5 speed would qualify. Then I figured out it wouldn't. Needless to say they wouldn't do anything for me, I would have settled for an apology and maybe a free oil change or something. Instead, I told them exactly what I thought of them and my brother bought a Nitro R/T from another dealer. Further everyone I know gets to hear how unhappy I am about their misinformation. It's a shame limited 5 speeds are so tough to find around here or I would have passed on the deal.
I can't wait until Chrysler sends me my customer survey. :D
07compass4x45spd 07-18-2007, 07:16 PM according to the eco auto web site it does not state that it is limited to 2x4 only here it is.

Any 4x2 will not necessarily qualify. It has to either be a 5 speed or an automatic with the 2.0 litre engine. I guess the wording in the listing doesn't exclude the 4x4.
Jeepers 07-19-2007, 04:00 PM No, none of the 4X4s qualify. Look at the Jeep.ca page for the Patriot. None of the 4x4s have the rebate logo beside them.
I also know this because the CFCR - 'Combined Fuel Consumption Rating' (55% city + 45% highway) has to be less than 8.3. The CFCR for the most efficient 4X4 (the 5-speed 2.4L) is 8.445 - too high to qualify for the rebate. Note that the 4x4s only come in 2.4L. Data obtained from Natural Resources Canada Fuel Consumption Database (sorry, this thing won't let me post the link!!!)
Regarding getting the rebates, click on the logo on the Jeep.ca site and the fine print says: Vehicle Efficiency Incentive (VEI) rebate will be issued by Federal Government in Fall 2007 to purchasers/lessors of new 2007 qualifying vehicles on or after March 20, 2007 in accordance with Federal Budget 2007. Proof of Canadian registration required

It's funny how serious these dealers get when it comes to the "Survey".
We, too, found that our dealer knew little about the rebate - he didn't even though there was one. We did not qualify but still love my vehicle; just the extra $1K would have been nice.
I can't wait for my survey also, because when we picked up our vehicle, it seems that the PDI was not completed. There was still that blue powder stuff on the tires, windows had some sticky, greasy goop and the leather was dusty. I would think the dealer would be embarrassed to let a vehicle in this condition off their lot. Needless to say, we cleaned her out. Now, she shines!

That may have something to do with the 3 grand you pounded the dealer for prior to your purchase. I expect the 100 bucks or so required to pay the dealers PDI department came off that great deal you got on your PAT. ;)

kanus 11-17-2007, 12:21 PM anyone receive their's yet?
I phoned them yesterday as it's been over a month since I mailed mine. My name isn't even in the system yet. They said it should take about 3 months to get your rebate.
Buddha09 11-18-2007, 08:04 PM hahaha wow, there goes the 6-8 weeks of waiting then. Thanks Kanus
LicenseToDrive 12-07-2007, 10:00 PM Check out the eco website - transport Canada. It is official. 2.0 CVT's along with the 2.4 manual 4x4's (only manuals in the 4x4) qualify for the $1000 rebate on the 08's. In the 4X2's - both the auto and the manual qualify.
Get the applications done...I know a few who applied in August for their 07's and they received the cheques last week...Appx3 months
Buddha09 12-10-2007, 10:16 AM I just received a letter that they have processed my application and will take a little more time to verify my information. What a waste of paper!
Keeping Fingers Crossed 12-10-2007, 03:35 PM Why didn't my Front wheel drive sport..with a 2.4 CVT automatic transmission not make it..???
Today I have sent the application for the $1000 federal rebate for my Pat 2.0litre engine with CVT.
Any idea how long it will take for the processing?
Jim
