Lots of fun, Bill!
MEGULA 06-01-2009, 05:25 PM :rockon:SWEET:rockon:
Kenigan 06-01-2009, 05:27 PM Looks like a great time!
SWeet video and pictures! Looks like you're putting your Patriot to the test as much, if not more than anyone else out there!
heckler 06-01-2009, 05:50 PM sweet! how did you end up with so many MK's (Pats and Compai) on the trail?!
heckler 06-01-2009, 05:56 PM Jeep Marshalls fault???? I'm curious how you got out of that tight spot with the front bumper bottomed out.
You should be responsible for your own fate. Those two downhill slides looked pretty frightening (especially the first at 1:00 in the video).
Psssst - get some better tread before trying those hills again.
kozouin 06-02-2009, 02:26 AM Thank you for your comments everybody!
It was a trail organised by the JEEP company in Cyprus.. there was an invitation for every Jeep Owner in Cyprus... As you can see only 25 of them showed up! 4 Patriots and a 6-7 Compass and the other were wranglers and cherokee.
There were Jeep Marshalls leading you in tough spots, but i think they made a mistake in the last part of the trail. i believe we could go left or right, not straight ahead to destroy the front bumper.. you could roll-over in that spot but i believed the patriot could pass it easily..anyway, every Patriot and Compass touched the ground.
By the way, i want to mention that the Patriots on the pictures and videos are FDI... because i can read lot of comments that FDI sucks on offroading.. i believe those who believe that are mistaken, and pictures can show that clearly!

We ve put some rocks in front of the tires in order to lift the front bumper up.. That worked out, but the bumper was sliding on the ground for few more cm.. finally we got out!
Good Job Patriot :smiley_thumbs_up:
KemnitZ 06-02-2009, 03:44 AM Nice pics and vids!:) We can see wrong design of Eurostyle bumper for offroad very clearly...!:(
Tony1911 06-02-2009, 04:03 AM Woo-hoo! Great to see several Patriots on the same trail! :smiley_thumbs_up:

Eh, the FDI does have its limitations. Whether it "sucks" or not depends on what your expectations for off-road capabilities are, I suppose.
tazman900 06-02-2009, 09:44 AM Reminds me of the Jeep Jamborees in the states.
Looks like lots of fun and I'm sure it impressed some of the Wrangler drivers to see what the Pats and Compass could do.
Thanks for sharing :)

tiptronic 06-02-2009, 10:12 AM As Stated!! This is where the BIG Euro bumper loses out!!
Goldenfalcon 06-02-2009, 11:17 AM Nice Pictures and video.
and 5 stars for the drive.
The HDC(Hill Descent Control) would make a BIG difference if you had it.
kozouin 06-02-2009, 02:06 PM Thank you everybody for your comments.
respect!
snokat 06-05-2009, 07:03 AM As Stated!! This is where the BIG Euro bumper loses out!!
....would also make a good snowplow!!! LOL
Looks like a real good time, Jeep style!
Like Heckler said, 'better rubbers' for the downhill leg.
Impressive Pat performance, again!
cyberdrone 06-05-2009, 09:46 AM Nice pics and vid !
gravel roads can be quite tricky, ik bet some of the drivers had to put on the ac to cool down afterwards :)
indeed the EU bigger bumpers are not that good for off-roading, have experienced it myself
DM6156 06-05-2009, 10:07 AM ah.. jeep-n.. one of the few world wide families
nice pictures and video.

alexp81 06-05-2009, 02:00 PM I've already commented on your pics in the greek forum, but I need to put something here as well. Great pics! Great trails! You are my July's POTM nomination at the moment ;)
voghy15 07-23-2009, 10:58 PM Looks like a great time! Sweet video and pictures! Looks like you're putting your Patriot to the test as much, if not more than anyone else out there!
hogar 08-20-2009, 04:18 AM Just wondering, did you had stock Continental tires on the trail?
Guidedog 08-20-2009, 05:38 AM Great pics!
Just a suspicious thought... do you think the jeep dealers stocked up on new front plastic parts the week before their little "mistake" of sending you down the "bumper killer trail"? LOL
Boy George 08-20-2009, 06:10 AM Great pics and video ... wanted to organize a similar event for Europats to Sardinia, see
http://www.jeeppatriot.com/forum/showthread.php?t=19152
but unfotunately, up till now, there wasn`t a SINGLE one european Jeep Patriot owner interested in this. Well, guess I`ll just have to go on my own :Racing:

What about you coming to Cyprus that you are alone and i will organize a similar event with all these jeep-guys?! :)
The hiker 05-26-2010, 07:37 PM Hey Kouzin,
Real nice trip. I saw the video time ago on YOUTUBE. I am looking forward to do something similar with mine!
A QUESTION TO ALL: Did anybody out here in Europe achieve to homologate the US bumper? I just informed myself about the cost and according to what I heard it must be arround 12000€ to homologate any new bumber. If anybody would have this certificate I wouldn't mind to pay for the rights. On the other hand it could even be interesting to do check if we could do a comunity to share the cost and get homologation for the US bumper with an acceptable attack angle. Any opinions on that????
heckler 05-29-2010, 10:35 AM Homologation is a technical term, derived from the Greek homologeo (ὁμολογέω) for "to agree", which is generally used in English to signify the granting of approval by an official authority. This may be a court of law, a government department, or an academic or professional body, any of which would normally work from a set of strict rules or standards to determine whether such approval should be given.
I had to look that one up.
heckler 05-29-2010, 10:36 AM hiker, here in north america we modify our ride without homologation. Continent of the free!
The hiker 05-30-2010, 04:33 PM Hi Heckler, Europe is too complicated for modifications but you know.... There is always a "plan B" and exception confirm the rules ===>> We do so too! The only matter is insurance issues and the technical control which we have to pass frequently :-((.
Anyway I am going to try first the Eurobumper with a 2 1/8" lift kit of Rocky road, and if I am getting to limit I might try to install the US bumper the one way or the other.
By the way: I saw all your videos in youtube. If I would live out in the states I would sure like to meet you guys for a off road week end. Looks like you are making good use of the Pat.
Greetings from Spain ;-D
deepnite10 05-30-2010, 09:47 PM it s good to know..by seeing that a Patriot can get ya out of
Dodge if the going gets tough..:smiley_thumbs_up:
