Yeah I was playing with that yesterday. It's probably the most options I've ever seen for a 3d view of a car. I was seriously considering the new Wrangler until I decided to keep my ZJ and get a Civic as a dd. My plan is to trade in the Civic in a couple years for a Wrangler (or probably a Gladiator if it is produced).

Yes, that's the same answer I got from the local Jeep dealership.

In fact, the salesman gave me a blank look when I asked about the Patriot.

I was also frustrated about knowing when they are going to release. I got creative and called the plant, but there was just a recording stating that they were not hiring at this time. He said that they were currently testing production units and expected them within 60 days (spoke to him on Aug 11). Just thought it was some interesting info to fuel rumors.

God I hope the info is wrong! My current vehicle is holding together well, but I really want to replace it by the years end, and a Patriot would really fit my needs perfectly. I've looked at the Compass up close, and it's really not that ugly. I'd consider one in a heartbeat if they had the options I want.

However they have already pushed the Patriot's release back from originally late summer (which is now) to late fall or winter. I'd think if any dealor was going to have them within 60 days, some preliminary pricing with various options would be available on the Jeep website by now. I just hope the wait is worth it, that any possible manufacturing bugs are worked out with the current models (Caliber and Compass) just to make the first year Patriots that much more reliable!

That's correct (from what I've heard) - production starts in October, the introduction will be late December or sometime in January.
