Go to your local grocery store or Appliance parts store.

I washed our Jeep this weekend and didn't get to the windows quick enough and ended up with the dreaded water spots.

Being Bored, BBQ'inq, and Drinking Beers I kept staring at my windshield with disgust.

I decided ya know what? Screw it, I'm going to use my Glass Cooktop Creme polish on the windshield.

It worked beautifully, driving down the road it's like I don't even have a windshield.

Only need a little bit, it goes on and dries like a wax and then you wipe it off.

Huh.

I've got hard water stains on my house front windows from sprinklers. And on my shower doors. I'm gonna bust out my bottle of glass cooktop cleaner and give it a try! Might as well, since nothing else has worked for me.

(I even tried a clay bar on the front windows to no avail!)

Let me know how it goes...I didn't think about the shower doors, it'd be awesome to use on them I bet.

I have a service customer who uses it to clean his home windows once a year, don't blame him on the yearly thing, he's got 36 windows in his home.

Thanks for the lead.
Do you see any issue with using easy-off oven cleaner to remove stubborn baked on bug from the front end?:icon_rolleyes:

I use glass wipes....the common stuff you can get a Wally World or C-Tire. No streaking, works really well.
I do have some of that ceramic cream though....may give it a go :)

I am not sure the paint would enjoy this very much... never tried it though.

I have been known to actually use standard "Turtle Wax" on my windows... its great is water just beads and runs off!

Oven cleaner is probably the best stuff to take your Paint right off---Straight down to bare metal!! Waterspots on windows??????.....Just wipe with slightly damp cloth..!!!!!

Calcium, Lime, etc. that doesn't just wipe off is what I'm referring to.

My wifes Explorer has some pretty bad water spots... years of accumulation I guess (since we inherited the Explorer from her father). I will give it a try with some "Whirlpool" ceramic oven top cleaner I have laying around. Will advise.

Just to make sure we're clear...Windows only.

Should be able to safely get the water spots off of the paint using a claybar or scratch-x.
