: Canadian customers - $50 free Mopar accessories

For Canadian customers, calling Chrysler Canada customer service will get you a $50 coupon (CDN) to be used against any Chrysler/Mopar products and accessories. No miniumum according to the cs rep.

I called cs because I wanted to know what I could do about the luxury mats and the logo peeling. The voice prompts will tell you that you MUST ASK for the coupon. I asked and it's in the mail - so ask. I guess I'll use it for slush mats :smiley_thumbs_up:

I dont understand this about luxury mats and pealing.
My mats have Jeep embroidered into them.

Are you sure you got the luxurys?

I'll post pictures in the mats thread.

Did you call for your 50 dollars at least?

Thanks for the heads up. Was this $50 coupon offered to improve your customer experience, in other words was it because of the problem with your luxury mats peeling? Or is it just for calling - you know like the radio station games to increase audience numbers. ;) I'll be on the phone tomorrow to check it out.

Thanks Phil8400!
Mine is on the way.
Just one problem, I can't figure out what to buy with it.
There is no mopar catalogue at my dealer and Mopar.ca does not seem to have any accessories for the Patriot. In fact it doesn't seem to have anything at all for 2007 or 2008 jeeps that I can find.

One source for Mopar parts is autotrucktoys.com (http://www.autotrucktoys.com/jeep_patriot/), which would at least show you what's available and you could contact the parts dept at your dealer. This is a U.S. company, and there would likely be import duties on parts shipped to Canada.

Is this the same Coupon that comes with the brochures? When they mailed me my brochures, I got one with my Caliber brochure and one with my Compass brochure and they both have @ $200 minimum purchase required - No expiry date though.

This was a great piece of info to get. I have a 2008 Patriot North on order. While '07s had fog lights as an option, they are only available on Limited models in Canada for '08 model year. That is what my coupon will go towards.
Order date: Aug. 07
Status D1 with estimated shipping date Aug 30.

I was able to provide the VIN to the telephone agent who couldn't locate the VIN but he said he was sending the coupon anyhow. I should be able to have the lights put on before I take delivery.

Any idea how long a delay there usually is for shipping? I am on east coast of Canada.

I called the Thursday before Labour Day and it was in my mailbox the following Tuesday. The agent was pleasant and didn't try to sell me anything extra. He did seem to have a little trouble finding my VIN number....and since it probably hadn't left the factory yet at that point was understandable. Still....he processed it with no argument and I have it. Will be spending it on the fog lamps that were not an option on the '08 North.

There's no minimum to use the coupon. Just speak to a customer service manager when you call and about a week later the coupon will be in your mailbox. (you must use it within 3 monthes) I was very disappointed when i went to check out mopar's website as well, forutnately for me I work at a dealership! :) If you call your dealer or one near you, they should send you a catalogue. Or if you have an idea of what you want they can go over options with you....
Anyone have a hard time finding stuff anywhere near that $50 mark!?!?!
I sure did, ended up getting the upright cargo area dog net. with my coupon i still ended up having to pay $20... Works great though.

Well...........I called on Monday, and the coupon's here on Thursday.
I hate that Mopar accessorary .pdf file (below). Its got squat listed, and no prices.
I don't know what to get. Don't need mud flaps because I'm not driving it at that capacity. I wouldn't mind a cargo mat, to help things from sliding around all over the place, but the parts department @ the dealership says they don't make any..maybe in after market.

I wouldn't mind one of those 'roller thingies' that you put within the cargo area, that work like a blind, that you can roll it out and in to hide what your carrying. Looks like its got slot for it, but can't find them listed anywhere. But on the other side of the coin, the windows are tinted so much, you really can't see in anyway.

Maybe have to roll the dice, and just get the cargo net I see within the link below. That'l stop things from moving. One has to wonder how much that's worth

I got the fog light kit but it is not a back yard job to do based on the fact you really need to take off the front wheels and some plastic shrouding to get it done. A hoist is very handy to get this job done so build in some dealer or garage costs (probably 1 - 1.5 hours)

Patriotrox

Cargo Net. I used my $50 certificate to get one of these. It's less than $50, so I forfeited the difference. I find it handy to keep a few grocery items from rolling around in the cargo area. Sure, I could put stuff on the back seat. But the net is a 'nice to have' accessory.

I went for the fog light kit too, but had the dealer install (when I bought the car I had them agree to do that for free if I bought the lights).
The install went smoothly and the lights went on, but when I went in to pick it up they revealed a problem - the lights could not be turned off!! They disconnected the wiring for the weekend so I could have my Patriot back.

I dropped it off at noon the following Tuesday but, despite reaching out for help they issue was still not resolved by end of day. They gave me a Stratus to use until my Jeep was finished (and after driving that I really appreciated my Jeep).
By noon the next day they had it working. Turns out the wiriing was ok, but the computer was not recognizing the fog lights. Once it was update it was all good.

Just thought you might want to know in case there is a problem during your installation.

I got my coupon in the mail about a month ago and was planning on using it for the mopar tent. Then I checked the price at the dealeship and the thing is 400 bucks!! When searching online it can be 100 dollars cheaper.

Then I thought about getting a hitch and wiring harness. Same thing... much cheaper online or through other dealers.

Now I'm wondering if there will be ANYTHING I could get from Mopar that wouldn't be much cheaper if I bought it somewhere else.

Oh well I guess that's why it's a free coupon.

The thing is with these coupons..you still need to purchase extrememely over inflated priced items to utilize them.
After searching high and low through a colour catelogue of Mopar/Patriot accessory items, I couldn't even find 1 item I really wanted in which I felt I was still getting a good deal (vs. after market) after using the coupon.
The thing just ended off expiring on me. To this day the vehicle is exactly as it was when I drove it offf the lot.(Oh..either than the garage door opener thats clipped to the sun visor)

Here are some cheap options under $50 for you. Give them your coupon, pay $0. Even if you do not need the accessory straight away you may use it later:

Trailer balls (1 7/8" or 2" size)
Trailer receiver lock
Trailer receiver plug (Jeep Logo)
Other tow/trailer accessories
Mud flaps
Cargo nets
Light covers
Wheel lock set
Jeep Storage Bag

I just wanted to know more about your Fog lights you had the dealer put in. What type of switch did they put in for the lights? Was is an orginal non-functional switch built into your Patriot or did they install an after market switch like a toggle switch? I realize you posted this about your fog lights more then a year ago, but I thought I would give it a shot at asking you.

I got my Wife to call for a coupon, told her to play dumb if they said that they sent me one already, so she did and the guy said it's suppose to be one coupon per car(VIN #) but will sent her one anyways.

I was also told by my dealership salesman that I could only use the coupon on a MSRP item, that if they were selling it cheaper to me that I couldn't use the $50 Coupon as well. I know on the back of the coupon it says "Claims submitted with accessory prices higher that the MSRP will be rejected" Doesn't mention anything about a lower price that MSRP being rejected.
Anyone else come across the same scenario.:icon_rolleyes:

if its the mopar kit, then it will come with a new replacement steering wheel stalk, that has the foglight switch on it. It will look like it came from the factory with them! :smiley_thumbs_up:

Called them today, I was asking a few questions regarding the shift boot quality since mine is already cracking, he refered me back to my dealer (which i was originaly going to go, I just wanted to fill the air on the call to make it seem like I had a real question to ask other than the rebate) so after that he offered me the 50$ so it's being sent out today :smiley_thumbs_up:

Coupon's in the mail.

I tried to have a french speaking customer service person but waited for 30 minutes... It's a pretty straight forward call for 50$ free!!!

It is gonna be a hood air deflector for me. i already had to repair a chip just under the hood between the grill and I notice some tiny paint chips on the front edge. That should do the trick and because my Jeep is green, it should be to noticeable. The Patriot air deflector is pretty small compare to other I seen.

I just called and after 6 or 7 tries and 20+ minutes waiting on hold, I got through and the coupon is in the mail. I didn't even make up a story, I just told the rep that I was thinking of getting a bug deflector and that there was a $50 coupon available for Canadian owners. She said yes there is, I'll send it right out. Sweet! Thanks for the info folks...

Pickup up 4 mudflaps for a total of $36 cdn with the coupon. Had to drill a few holes, but the Jeep didn't bleed. The screws that mount through the newly drilled holes are coated with something. Probably to keep the fender from rusting. And the flaps are made in Canada!
